The International Energy Forum (IEF) is the world’s largest gathering of Energy Ministers. IEF Countries account for more than 90% of global oil and gas supply and demand. In addition to IEA and OPEC countries, transit states and key energy players, including Brazil, China, India, Mexico, Russia and South Africa, participate in the Forum. The magnitude and diversity of this engagement is a testament to the IEF’s position as a neutral facilitator. Through the International Energy Forum and its associated events, IEF Ministers, their officials, energy industry executives, and other experts engage in a dialogue of increasing importance to global energy security. The IEF and the global energy dialogue are promoted by a permanent Secretariat of international staff based in the Diplomatic Quarter of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Visit our website www.ief.org The International Energy Forum also co-ordinates the Joint Organisations Data Initiative (JODI) in co-operation with APEC, Eurostat, IEA, OLADE, OPEC and the UNSD. Neodymium is a rare but critical mineral and is essential for building the powerful permanent magnets needed for wind turbines and electric vehicles. With demand projected to soar by 48% by 2050, here’s why we need to ensure a sustainable supply: https://lnkd.in/dVq3YEtE #Neodymium #EnergyTransition #EnergyDialogue

Africa is home to 17% of the world’s population, but its share of global energy generation has remained at just 3% since the early 2000s. By focusing on energy supply, security and access, as well as sustainability, stakeholders can ensure a just, gradual transition for tackling energy poverty across the continent. #Africa #EnergyPoverty #EnergyDialogue

Reducing the emissions intensity of oil and gas operations requires steadfast policy support to meet net-zero goals. Technologies like carbon capture, electrification and methane reduction tools all have a critical part to play in making this happen. Platinum-based technology could be a powerful tool in the energy transition. However, unless action is taken to address the supply-demand gap, scarcity could threaten decarbonization goals. Here’s how: https://bit.ly/3PbJk79 #CriticalMinerals #EnergyTransition
