Last September, we welcomed 10 Saudi graduates from Tabuk, in northwestern Saudi Arabia, to Port of NEOM's vocational program, delivered in partnership with the Saudi Logistics Academy. These talented women are embarking on a two-year journey to master remote crane operations — a critical skill in modern logistics. By equipping them with the technical expertise for port automation, the program is opening pathways to future-focused roles that support NEOM’s growth and innovation. Oxagon recently welcomed the NEOM McLaren Formula E Team, including Team Principal Ian James and star drivers Sam Bird and Taylor Barnard, ahead of the Team’s stellar performance at the Jeddah E-Prix. From diving into McLaren’s high-performing work culture to showcasing progress across Oxagon, it was an action-packed visit for the podium-finishing team. Following his first trip to Oxagon, Barnard made history in Jeddah, becoming the youngest-ever Formula E polesitter and securing a P2 podium finish. Port of NEOM is developing into a key logistics hub. Located on the Red Sea near the Suez Canal, it is positioned as a global trade gateway, connecting NEOM with Asia, Europe, and Africa. Already managing cargo essential to NEOM’s growth, the port continues to expand, with the new Terminal 1 set to open from 2026, designed to handle 1.5 million TEUs annually. NEOM and DataVolt have signed a landmark agreement at #LEAP25 to build the region’s first truly sustainable, net-zero AI factory campus in Oxagon. The establishment of a 1.5GW AI factory campus by DataVolt represents a major milestone in advancing the Kingdom’s vision for a sustainable, data-driven economy. Supported by an initial $5 billion investment, the first phase of the project is set to become operational by 2028. The campus will be powered by renewables-based energy and integrate cutting-edge cooling technologies, ensuring AI workloads are both efficient and environmentally responsible. Strategically located on the Red Sea coast, Oxagon provides the ideal foundation for AI-driven innovation, with access to sub-sea fiber optic cables providing global connectivity, cost-competitive renewable energy, and a thriving industrial ecosystem built for next-generation industries. The development of the 1.5GW net-zero factory campus marks a significant step forward in positioning Saudi Arabia as a global powerhouse for AI and digital infrastructure.
