اختتمت الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا مشاركتها في #المنتدى_السياسي_الرفيع_المستوى 2024 في نيويورك، الذي يراجع الجهود العالمية، والتقدم المحرز في تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة 2030، وذلك ضمن وفد المملكة المشارك.

The Royal Commission for AlUla concluded its participation in the #High_Level_Political_Forum_2024 in New York, where global efforts and progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 were reviewed, as part of the Kingdom's delegation.

تدعم شراكتنا الاستراتيجية مع #اليونسكو أهدافنا المشتركة لبناء القدرات، ومشاركة الخبرات والمعارف؛ كجزء من برنامجنا الثقافي المتكامل. كما ركّزت ورشة العمل التي أُقيمت لمدة يومين في #باريس، على مساعينا لإرساء أفضل الممارسات والمعايير، وتطوير خطتنا للعناية بأهم الأصول التراثية الثقافية في #العلا، ومنها مدينة الحجر الأثرية؛ والتي تعد أول موقع سعودي مسجل على قائمة "اليونسكو" للتراث العالمي. وجمعت الورشة قادة اليونسكو والخبراء الدوليين وفريق الهيئة المسؤول عن الآثار والحفظ والسياحة والمشاركة، لتبادل المعرفة القيّمة والمنهجيات الهادفة إلى ربط الجمهور بقصص المواقع الخاصة بأساليب إبداعية شيّقة وضمان الحماية المستمرة لتراثنا الغني. كما تعد المواقع الثقافية في #العلا مثالاً عالميًا لأفضل التجارب المثرية، والتي تستند استراتيجية تقديمها على قيم الطموح والاكتشاف والتواصل، كما قاد فريق "الرواة" دورًا محوريًا في تسهيل الرحلات للزوار من جميع أنحاء العالم.

Our strategic partnership with UNESCO supports our shared goals of capacity building and the exchange of expertise and knowledge as part of our integrated cultural program. The 2-day workshop held in #Paris focused on our efforts to establish best practices and standards and to develop our preservation plan for #AlUla's most important cultural heritage assets, including the Hegra Archaeological Site, the first Saudi site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The workshop brought together #UNESCO leaders, international experts, and The Royal Commission for AlUla Culture Sites Management, Archaeology, Collections, Conservation and Destination Management team. This gathering facilitated the exchange of valuable knowledge and methodologies aimed at creatively and engagingly connecting the public to the stories of Hegra, and enabling the ongoing protection of our rich heritage. #AlUla's cultural sites are a global example of enriching experiences, with their presentation strategy grounded in values of ambition, discovery, wisdom and relevance. Rawis The "storytellers" team play a pivotal role in facilitating journeys for visitors from around the world.

استنادًا إلى اتفاقية التوأمة بين الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا ومدينة ماتيرا الإيطالية، استضافت العلا مؤخرًا وفدًا من بلدية المدينة. تمهد هذه الزيارة الطريق لتعزيز التعاون في مجال الحفاظ على الثقافة وبناء على إرثنا المشترك كملتقى للحضارات، وتمثل الخطوة التالية في تطوير العلاقات، حيث نواصل العمل على التزامنا بحماية وترويج التراث الثقافي. من خلال هذه الشراكة، سنعمل معًا لتعزيز الازدهار المشترك والاستدامة، وتنظيم التبادلات الثقافية، والتعاون في إبداع المبادرات، وتبادل المعرفة في مجموعة واسعة من مجالات التعاون، معيدًا تصور كيفية ربط المهتمين بالثقافة بالتاريخ والتراث.

Building on The Royal Commission for AlUla’s Twinning Agreement with the Italian city of Matera, #AlUla recently played host to a delegation from the municipality. Paving the way for enhanced collaboration in cultural conservation and building on our mutual legacy as a crossroads for civilisations, the visit marked the next stage in the relationship, as we continue to drive forward our commitment to safeguard and promote cultural heritage. Through the partnership, we will work together to promote common prosperity and sustainability, organise cultural exchanges, co-create initiatives and exchange knowledge on a wide range of cooperation areas, reimagining how we connect the culturally curious to history and heritage.

نالت الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا اعتمادها كأول وجهة سياحية بمنطقة الشرق الأوسط من مؤسسة "ديستنيشنز إنترناشونال" في واشنطن، وهي الجمعية العالمية لمتخصصي الوجهات السياحية. يشهد إتمام برنامج الاعتماد لتسويق الوجهات السياحية (DMAP) على مكانة #العلا كوجهة رائدة للتراث الثقافي والطبيعي، ويجسّد التزام الهيئة بتعزيز ودعم معايير الجودة العالية في قطاع السياحة. وجاء حصول الهيئة على هذا الاعتماد بعد تلبيتها أكثر من 100 معيار أداء حددتها لجنة مستقلة من كبار ممثلي قطاعات الوجهات السياحية. كما حصلت الهيئة خلال الشهر ذاته على تقييم 5 نجوم للتميز المؤسسي من المؤسسة الأوروبية لإدارة الجودة، وجائزة التميز من جمعية إدارة المرافق في الشرق الأوسط.

The Royal Commission for AlUla has achieved the first Destination Marketing Accreditation Program certification in the Middle East from Destinations International in Washington, the global association for destination professionals. This certification acknowledges AlUla's status as a leading destination for cultural and natural heritage and reflects the RCU's commitment to promoting and supporting high-quality standards in the tourism sector. The RCU earned this certification after meeting over 100 performance criteria set by an independent committee of senior representatives from the tourism sector. Additionally, in the same month, the RCU received a 5-star institutional excellence rating from the European Foundation for Quality Management and an excellence award from the Middle East Facility Management Association.

The Royal Commission for AlUla participated in the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Conference, which provided an opportunity to engage with a global audience of industry experts. Under the theme "New Horizons. New Opportunities", the Royal Commission joined more than 2,300 participants from 120 countries at this high-level event held in Washington, D.C. During a keynote session titled "Integrated Assurance Across Lines of Defense", the Head of Governance, Risk, and Compliance, along with the Head of Internal Audit, presented how improving efficiency and processes supports their long-term goals and vision. A significant amount of work at the Commission is dedicated to integrating risk management systems and internal audits, which act as lines of defense aimed at ensuring a balanced level of assurance with the core pillars of work in terms of time, effort, and cost to achieve the objectives. The conference, which featured over 55 sessions led by more than 50 industry leaders, provided the Commission's team with the opportunity to explore new ideas and working methods to enhance the sector. The conference highlighted the importance of detailed audits, smart oversight, continuous risk assessment, compliance, and internal auditing in supporting the effectiveness of the Royal Commission for AlUla’s work and achieving its goals in comprehensively and sustainably revitalizing AlUla.

شاركت الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا في مؤتمر المعهد الدولي للمراجعين الداخليين (IIA) والذي أتاح فرصة للتواصل مع جمهور عالمي من الخبراء في المجال. وتحت شعار "آفاق جديدة. فرص جديدة"، شاركت الهيئة الملكية مع أكثر من 2300 مشارك من 120 دولة في هذا الحدث الرفيع المستوى الذي أُقيم في العاصمة الأمريكية واشنطن. وخلال جلسة رئيسية بعنوان "ضمان متكامل عبر خطوط الدفاع"، عرض رئيس قطاع إدارة الحوكمة والمخاطر والالتزام، ورئيس قطاع المراجعة الداخية كيفية تحسين الكفاءة والعمليات مما يدعم أهدافها ورؤيتها طويلة الأجل. ويتم تخصيص الكثير من العمل في الهيئة لدمج أنظمة إدارة المخاطر وكذلك المراجعة الداخلية حيث تعمل هذه الأنظمة كخطوط دفاعية تهدف إلى ضمان مستوى من الضمان، متوازنة مع الركائز المركزية للعمل من حيث الوقت والجهد والتكلفة لتحقيق الأهداف. وقدم المؤتمر، الذي تضمن أكثر من 55 جلسة تحدث فيها أكثر من 50 من الرواد في المجال، والذي يتيح لفريق الهيئة فرصة لاستكشاف أفكار وطرق عمل جديدة لتحسين القطاع. ساهم المؤتمر في تسليط الضوء على أهمية التدقيقات التفصيلية والإشراف الذكي والتقييم المستمر للمخاطر وكذلك الالتزام والمراجعة لدعم فعالية أعمال الهيئة الملكية لمحافظة العلا وتحقيق أهدافها في إعادة تنشيط العلا بشكل شامل ومستدام.
