🌍 Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder of the importance of prioritizing our well-being. In today’s dynamic work environment, it’s easy to focus on performance and results. But how often do we think about how our mental well-being affects our ability to thrive at work? Mental health isn’t just personal – it plays an important role in how we lead, collaborate, and grow as professionals. When we prioritize our minds, we make better decisions, build stronger relationships, and create healthier teams. At AAK, we believe that a healthy workplace is essential for growth and development. Thanks to our ongoing efforts, 70% of our employees now feel that AAK is a psychologically and emotionally healthy place to work – a 12%-age point increase over the last few years. Of course, there's always more work to be done. Every day, we continue the conversation around mental well-being, striving to make it a core part of our culture and success. On this World Mental Health Day, let's all take a moment to reflect on the importance of mental health in the workplace. 📣 AAK’s biofuel plant in Aarhus, Denmark, is nominated for the Aarhus Architecture Prize 🏭   Technical facilities are part of the green transition and must be integrated into our cities and landscapes - to fill the cityscape. The biofuel plant in Aarhus, with high architectural quality, is a good example of this. The plant building has a simple, safe, and detailed design with clear and simple geometry. It adapts well, with its red aluminum facades between the old red brick buildings and the Aarhus' industrial port. The semi-transparent facade gives a sense of the impressive process plants inside, and when lit up in the evening it appears as light and elegant despite its size. The Aarhus Architecture Prize is awarded to buildings and urban spaces of exceptionally high architectural quality. It enables us to monitor effectively and respond swiftly to potential issues. By 2025 we are committed to achieving 100% traceability to palm oil source. In 2023, we achieved 93% traceability to plantation for palm. This accomplishment is the result of proactive monitoring, third-party verification, strategic supplier engagement, collaboration with multiple stakeholders, and targeted root cause mitigation—all aimed at protecting biodiversity. You’ve probably heard about chocolate tasting, but what about oil tasting? At AAK, we take a unique approach led by Antonia Nilsson at our tasting lab in Karlshamn, Sweden.   Each day, Antonia samples and evaluates between 50 and 70 different plant-based oils. This meticulous process allows us to deliver top-quality oils to our customers, enabling our customers to create great products for consumers.   In our tasting lab, Antonia and her team assess not just the flavor but also the overall quality and efficiency of our production processes. This rigorous testing ensures that every batch meets the high standards our customers expect. Oil tasting is a complex task requiring a refined palate, which Antonia has developed over years of practice.   Talented tasters like Antonia are rare. Her role is crucial to our goal of delivering the best possible products. The insights gained from oil tasting enhance our production processes, resulting in top-quality plant-based oils.
