Robotic additive manufacturing is complex, and synchronizing path planning, motion control, and material deposition often requires significant expertise and time. That’s why we are excited to introduce new AI-powered tools in #AdaOne that help streamline this process.   By leveraging advanced diffusion models trained on 3D geometry, AdaOne now offers features like automatic part type detection and slicing suggestions — automating key steps in path planning. This reduces the need for trial and error, allowing operators to focus on fine-tuning rather than starting from scratch.   We believe AI can add real value by assisting users during the CAM process, helping to identify issues before they arise. Our latest video showcases these capabilities and the future potential of AI in enhancing the user experience.   For more insights, read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/e6fw8KDJ #AdditiveManufacturing #Robotics #AIinManufacturing #AI #3DPrinting

Revitalizing Manufacturing: Transforming Recycled Materials into a Cutting-Edge Kayak Prototype   This video shows a full-sized kayak prototype built in recycled materials with advanced robotic additive manufacturing. The kayak was 3D printed at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden in a single continuous path without interruptions, ensuring a consistent and strong process to test different materials.   The materials used is a great real life example of a circular material flow. It is based on an old recycled kayak that had been previously 3D printed at RISE. The original kayak was in turn made from recycled polyethylene wood fiber composite (FibraQ from Biofiber Tech Sweden AB) and shredded and combined for this print by Ting Yang Nilsson and Johan Landberg to showcase the effectiveness of their in-house recycling.   Some additional materials were added to enhance the material properties. These consisted of polyethylene ocean plastic waste such as old fishnets from the Swedish West Coast and plant-based PLA from Finnish forests.   The design of the Värmdö kayak was created by Melker of Sweden. It was slightly optimised for the robotic additive manufacturing process.   Adaxis #AdaOne software was utilized for the printing. Our new integrated cutting, drilling, and milling capabilities were used for the post processing. Build strategy and tool pathing was a joint effort between Woodrow Wiest and Emil Johansson.   The kayak was printed using a 45-degree planar tool path, allowing for a horizontally continuous printing process. To ensure a smooth bottom finish, the extrusion thickness on the underside hull surface was increased by 50% to ensure sufficient stock for the final milling process.   The final steps involved creating milling paths to open all hatches, drill holes, and mill the hull bottom. Again, all milling, drilling and cutting was created by and controlled from #AdaOne.     This project was made possible at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, led by Researcher Ting Yang Nilsson and supported by funding from Vinnova under LIGHTer. #additivemanufacturing #3dprinting #robotics #sustainability #circulareconomy #innovation #startup

3D Printing Complex Layering & Overhangs for Low Temp Tooling & Moulds We recently completed a successful Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for a client using a KUKA KR210 robot and CEAD Group S25 extruder set up. The part was printed with Airtech Advanced Materials Group's Dahltram S-150GF, a cost-effective (~£15/kg), glass fibre reinforced polymer designed for tooling and low-temperature master moulds up to 88^C. The material can be machined to exact tolerances, making it versatile for various applications. CNC Robotics & CEAD will be showcasing a lot more industry/application specific parts, on our shared exhibition stand, during the upcoming Advanced Engineering UK show. Introducing #AdaOne's Feature of the Day - Extrusion Calibration. AdaOne’s Extrusion Calibration feature is designed to improve precision in pellet extrusion by accounting for the non-linear behavior of extruders and materials. With this feature and our dedicated material calibration process, users can input measurement data to create a flow rate to RPM graph, ensuring more accurate material deposition. This feature allows you to fine-tune your extrusion process, optimizing material flow for better print quality—essential for complex extruders and unique material combinations.   This video showcases this feature using data from the CEAD Group S25 extruder with Airtech Advanced Materials Group’s Dahltram T-100GF material to highlight its real-world benefits. #robotics #additivemanufacturing #3dprinting #software #lfam
