Yesterday we had the privilege of hosting a networking event featuring a panel discussion that explored some of the most pressing topics of our time. From the shifting geopolitical landscape to the fast-paced worlds of digitalization, finance, and sustainability, our conversation ultimately centred around one key theme: leadership—the kind of leadership we will need to navigate the future. A special thank you to all who joined us at Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden (Kungliga Musik Högskolan ). On behalf of the entire team at Alumni Global, we also wish to extend our deepest appreciation to our panellists: Anna-Karin Eneström, John Hassler, Johansson Micael, and Sara Öhrvall. We hope you all enjoyed our time together. ⭐As we continue our work in leadership services, one thought from the discussion truly stood out: we could soon witness the first large-scale company with only one employee—supported entirely by AI agents. While this idea may seem futuristic, it's worth contemplating how such developments could reshape not only leadership but the very definition of what an organisation is. ⭐Finally, we recognized the growing need for collaboration across sectors. To solve the complex challenges ahead, it’s not just about government institutions—it’s about involving businesses and civil society to co-create sustainable solutions. Thank you again to everyone who made this event so memorable! #unleashpotential #leadership #sustainableleadership

If you want to attract and retain top talent, you need to have leaders that care for and develop their people, and who are able to convey a purpose of their work that goes beyond the bottom line. Working with executive search, we at Alumni Global have developed the Alumni Sustainable Leadership model, which is our toolbox that makes it easier to quickly zoom in on the leadership traits that truly matter in this ever-changing world.   Amongst one of the characteristics we look for are leaders with a competency for building strong authentic connections. Leaders who can formulate and communicate a vision that is clear and connects with people emotionally. They act with authenticity; daring to be vulnerable and show their true selves, matching their words with their actions, and having truthful conversations with others. They: ✔️ clearly translate vision and strategy into ambitious expectations and accountabilities ✔️ identify key messages and over-communicates these ✔️ make time regularly for honest, personal conversations where focus is to listen and understand the individual’s context and motivations ✔️ actively promote collaboration and act as a role model in this regard, e.g. by inviting diverse perspectives and encouraging cross-cultural/team collaboration ✔️ act as a role model in showing vulnerability and openness as a leader. Are these behaviours you recognise in your own leadership? Are they behaviours you even pay attention to, provide feedback on or maybe they are simply taken for granted? This competency – authentic connection – is one of four in a model we at Alumni have created that we call Alumni’s Sustainable Leadership Model. We interact daily with leaders across a wide range of sectors and contexts, providing us with great insights into the similarities and differences in the type of leadership needed to build successful and durable businesses.  Some common traits we see amongst leaders of successful organisations today are individuals that on top of their experience and expertise, show characteristics that include humanity, authenticity, drive for growth and an agile mindset. Having developed processes and tools to identify these individuals and to further help assess and work with leadership development, here are some tips to help you spot these characteristics in your leadership.   First out, what to look out for to identify a leader with strong humanistic characteristics. These are leaders who come out as empathetic and with a strong sense of ethics, with a focus on the well-being of others and an ability to see the bigger picture. They: ✔️ build a psychologically safe environment by encouraging people to challenge, give feedback and take calculated risks ✔️ set clear boundaries for discriminating and/or unjust behaviours ✔️ empower individuals and teams by involving them in decision processes when appropriate and encouraging decisions to be made at the lowest possible level ✔️ communicate goals, roles, and expectations clearly ✔️ build processes to ensure feedback is regularly given on performance.   Are these behaviours you recognise in your own leadership? Are they behaviours you even pay attention to, provide feedback on or maybe they are simply taken for granted?   This competency – humanity – is one of four in a model we at Alumni Global have created - Alumni’s Sustainable Leadership Model. You can read more about this here (https://lnkd.in/dpaEFmFi)   Our experience of working within leadership services has been that if you want to attract and retain top talent, you need to have leaders who care for and develop their people, and who can convey a purpose of their work that goes beyond the bottom line.

Best executive search you’ve ever tried - Leadership is my passion

⚠ The boards struggle to manage risk. Two weeks ago we heard fantastic speeches proposing and opposing the above mentioned motion. For me, what stood out at the Non-Executive Directors' Association Board debate was the word "struggle." Risk management isn't easy, it is very much a struggle. Trying to stay up to date on geopolitical security, cyber security, space security to name just few is a never ending battle against time. Evaluating, managing and mitigating risk is however an important aspect of the board room, and while Angela A. Knight was opposing the motion in this structured debate, her conviction and experience on the ability that boards have was a solid argument. Great fun! Good times! Thanks for NEDA for the collaboration with Alumni Global

The Nordic life sciences sector—renowned for its innovation and resilience—faces a distinct set of challenges in today’s volatile market. Mid-cap med-tech and medical device companies, in particular, are navigating a complex landscape shaped by global market fluctuations, regulatory changes, and shifting investor sentiment. The central question for boards and leadership teams is whether to embrace risk or adopt a more cautious "wait-and-see" strategy.
