Raufoss Technology in Raufoss, Norway, manufactures link arms and other aluminum parts for the automotive industry. By having long-standing partner AP&T upgrade one of the company's existing forging lines with a new, specially designed 2,500 ton hydraulic press, not only have the press’ cycle times been reduced but the company can now also manufacture larger parts than before. AP&T's pioneering equipment technology for hot forming of high-strength aluminum, offering completely new possibilities for designing and manufacturing large, complexly shaped lightweight parts, is now available in China. The first production line of its kind in the country is in operation at Sington Technology's Shanghai facility, where it is used to manufacture lightweight components for Lotus luxury electric cars.  “The fact that Sington Technology has chosen to invest in our equipment technology for hot forming high-strength aluminum, our first customer in China to do so, is of great importance and paves the way for more business both in China and globally,” says Kimi He, General Manager of AP&T China.
