🥳 “A fantastic resource for any scientist who wants to look at disease biomarkers” The Human Protein Atlas has launched its 24th version, adding over 10 million annotated bioimages and restructuring its content into eight main resources for improved accessibility. 🩸 It introduces new tools, such as the Disease Blood Atlas, which provides next-generation blood profiling data from 59 diseases. This resource aims to improve biomarker identification, essential for disease diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, spatial transcriptomics and AlphaFold structural data on protein variants enhance researchers' understanding of proteins' roles in human biology and disease pathways. 👉🏼 Learn more from the words of Prof. Mathias Uhlen director of the Human Protein Atlas: https://lnkd.in/dtb-74CD 🔬Atlas Antibodies manufactures the antibodies used to build the Human Protein Atlas https://lnkd.in/dHiwcgG #proteomics #humanproteome #antibodies #proteins

Heading home after an inspiring week at the Human Proteome Organisation Congress in Dresden during which it was a privilege to witness the launch of version 24 of The Human Protein Atlas. As a part of Atlas Antibodies, I take pride in how our innovative antibodies have been the backbone of The Human Protein Atlas for 20 years. Our high-quality antibodies have been essential for accurately mapping the proteome, and continue to enable researchers to unlock the complexities of human biology. Excited to see how these advancements will further propel our understanding of health and disease! #HumanProteome #Proteomics #TheHumanProteinAtlas #AtlasAntibodies

🥇 Following the announcement of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Catrine Siöberg, Head of Research and Development at Atlas Antibodies, reflected on the significance of transparency and structural insights in antibody development: "What is unique for Atlas Antibodies is that we are transparent about which amino acid sequence of the target protein our antibodies are developed against. Through AlphaFold's AI models, which are shown in the Structure section of the Human Protein Atlas, our customers can now also see where in the protein's three-dimensional structure the antibody binds." In diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, proteins misfold or clump together, and in cancer, proteins are often modified due to mutations. "The structure of proteins is essential for their function. We want to study and quantify proteins, so knowing what they look like is extremely important." 👉🏼 Full text here: https://ow.ly/B3gZ50TPFko #atlasantibodies #proteomic #nobelprize #humanproteome #primaryantibodies

Multiplex tissue image of the month - BOLL in testis Meiosis-associated Boule homolog, RNA binding protein (gene: BOLL) is localized to mid-stage developing sperm in testis with multiplex immunohistochemistry (mIHC/IF). With the help of the mIHC/IF spermatocytes panel, it is possible to facilitate high resolution spatial localization of proteins that are expressed during the stages of spermatogenesis in which the genetic material of the chromosome pairs is aligned and recombined. Using this panel, Boule homolog, RNA binding protein (BOLL), a protein that has been found to be essential for sperm development, is mainly localized (green) to the cytoplasm of pachytene/diplotene spermatocytes (magenta). In accordance with the spatial expression pattern, single-cell RNA sequencing data for BOLL shows group enriched expression in different cells of spermatogenesis with the highest expression in mid-stage spermatocytes. https://lnkd.in/dQNXZ_GU
