For the last couple of months, we’ve had the pleasure of having Jessica Karlsson in our team! 🌟 Jessica is a 5th year student at the Biomedicine program at Lunds universitet where she is writing her Master’s thesis in collaboration with us. By studying biomarkers connected to memory and metabolism, Jessica is evaluating the potential health benefits of the supplementation of a specific mix of Nordic berries. She is analyzing brain proteins related to neuro-inflammation, brain insulin pathways, and other brain biomarkers that are involved in memory performance. Jessica splits her time between the Aventure AB office and the BMC lab, and her dedication and organizational skills makes it a delight to work together with her 💜 With three months until graduation, Jessica says she is looking forward to see what the future will hold. ”I am very interested in functional food and I think that it is important to also focus on preventative strategies when it comes to health”, Jessica says. ”This is one of the reasons as to why it has been such a delight to have the opportunity to work together with the people at Berry Lab and Aventure.”

METABOLISM DAY 2024 🌟 Yesterday, the Berry Lab team went to Denmark to participate at the Metabolism Day, organized by the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen. Bringing together leading researchers within the field of metabolism, the day was a great opportunity to discuss the latest science in cardio metabolic diseases and energy control. Hats off to the organizers for curating such an engaging and enlightening event!
