Excitement as BIM UK receives their 2nd BIM Pics unit Great to see our colleagues Claire Ripley and Owen Smith diving in to assemble the new BIMPics unit! The 1st unit has been invaluable to the UK team and their customers, and as the business grows, the need for the accompanying tools has too.  BIMPics is a portable particle analysis system based on process imaging technology to monitor pulp and paper process chemistry. 11th Nordic Wood Biorefinery Conference (NWBC) 2024 Yesterday, 15 October, Johan Berglund, Senior Product and Application Developer, held a speech on "Recent Advances in Tall Oils Yield Improvement at Pulp Mills: A Comprehensive Overview" at the NWBC 2024. Johan shared how BIM has been working on various projects to optimise tall oil extraction for our customers, leading to our innovative concept, BIM TOMAX. This conference is a meeting place between research, innovation and industry, where the latest discoveries and innovations in bio-based materials, chemicals, and products from biorefineries are presented. This year’s theme is From Science To Transition. Conferences like this not only provide an opportunity to share breakthroughs but also highlight the importance of networking in pushing the boundaries of research and development. Buzzing into honey season 🐝 Finally, our “bee-hero” Ulf arrived to ensure our bees live like royalty, harvest this year’s honey, and prepare them for the winter. The honey is ready to be harvested when the bees build wax caps over the honeycombs. They actually leave us a little surplus, and it's no small thing - one teaspoon of honey is said to represent an entire bee's lifetime of work! Talk about working hard for that sweet reward! The late summer bees are now turning into winter bees - the ones who will keep the whole "bee ball" (the cosiest group hangout ever) together throughout the winter. Right now, there’s still a buzz of activity in the hive, but soon, it’ll be time for them to take their winter rest and gather strength for spring. We eagerly await this year’s harvest and wish our little friends a well-deserved break. See you again when the temperature hits ten degrees.
