🛒 What does the Supreme Court’s decision on Tesco’s “Fire and Rehire” strategy mean for employers? The Supreme Court has ruled against supermarket giant Tesco, preventing them from firing and rehiring a group of distribution centre employees over a contract dispute. This decision reinstates an injunction, raising important questions for employers. Our International HR Services team - Senior Associate Rob Collier-Wright and Professional Support Lawyer Olivia Baxendale, provided their insights on this significant ruling in International Employment Lawyer’s latest article. As Rob and Olivia highlighted, “The wider impact of this case remains to be seen, but for now, it may not materially affect employers’ ability to change terms and conditions, including by way of ‘fire and rehire’, save where the contractual entitlements subject to the changes are expressly stated to be permanent.” 💡 Read the full analysis on the IEL website (membership required) https://lnkd.in/eK6sapqy
