  • To celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March, we invited our female colleagues to share why they love working in the dairy industry. 💙🐄 Inge Kiemel, Marketing and Sales Support Coordinator in the Netherlands, shares, “Although I didn’t grow up on a dairy farm myself, I was surrounded by farmers – hard-working people who are truly passionate about what they do. Now that I work at DeLaval, I can do my part in supporting dairy farmers through their challenges and helping ensure the sector continues to innovate and survive. That, in my eyes, is extremely important.” Inge, who has been part of the #TeamBlue family for almost four years, says, “No two days are the same – there’s always a new project, a fun challenge, or an intriguing problem to solve. And we do it as a close-knit team, all over the world, sharing the same passion!” At DeLaval, we are proud to have a diverse range of female professionals in roles that span every corner of the industry. From sales to finance, from infrastructure specialists to veterinarians, our colleagues bring expertise and passion to every aspect of the dairy world. Take Michelle Silva, Finance Manager at the Americas Finance Shared Service Center (USA), who blends her passion for the industry with her finance expertise. Jessica Hägg Järpemo, Sales Representative from Sweden, who grew up on a dairy farm, says, “DeLaval has always been like a cool big sister. As my interest in sustainable food production deepened, joining DeLaval became a natural progression in my career. It’s a privilege to leverage my expertise to support farmers in ensuring a sustainable food supply for all.” Sylwia Śliż, Infrastructure Specialist, enjoys the dynamic nature of her job: “No two days are the same. I enjoy solving technical challenges and making sure everything runs smoothly. It’s a great mix of technical work and practical problem-solving.” Discover what more of DeLaval’s female colleagues said about why they love their job – head to this link: https://ow.ly/KIy150Vi9YA #DeLaval #InternationalWomensDay #DairyIndustry #TeamBlue #WomenInDairy #TeamBlue

  • DeLaval has installed Kazakhstan’s largest milking rotary – a 80-stall E300 – at Agro company Rodina LLP. Located in the Akmola region, Rodina LLP is the largest dairy farm in Central Asia and the top dairy producer in Kazakhstan. After 17 years with equipment from another supplier, the farm turned to DeLaval for its modernisation project. The new milking system consists of an 80-stall E300 rotary, designed to milk the farm’s 2,000 highly productive cows. It is equipped with innovative technologies that contribute to high productivity and comfort for both the animals and the farm staff. Besides the rotary E300, the farm has invested in a post-milking teat spray robot TSR, two outdoor vertical tanks DX3S by 35,000 kg each, two chillers CWC120 for milk cooling, a body condition scoring system, an activity detection system, as well as a cow mover ECG300, which efficiently directs cows onto the rotary platform, and sorting gates DSG5, which automatically guide cows to different areas based on specific criteria such as health or milk production. To meet the customer's requirements, DeLaval specialists developed a customised technological plan for the new milking centre, ensuring staff can work in safe, comfortable conditions while enabling fast, efficient milking. With the new equipment, Agro Company Rodina LLP aims to boost milk production while maintaining high-quality and environmental standards. Ivan Adamovich Sauer, General Director of Agro Company Rodina LLP, says: "We must always move forward, we must strive for the best. Especially since we installed our first rotary 17 years ago, this has been our motto: ‘The next farm must be better than the previous one.’” With the equipment now operational, DeLaval specialists will continue to assist by providing technological support and conducting training for the customer's staff. This training includes the use of technologies for automatic body condition scoring, managing the cows' activity system, and working with the DelPro herd management program. These solutions enable the customer to fully harness the capabilities and benefits of DeLaval’s digital tools. As Sergey Volkov, Solution Manager at DeLaval, says: “The installation of the new E300 not only contributes to the development of the farm but also boosts the entire dairy industry in Kazakhstan.” #DeLaval #TeamBlue #WeLiveMilk #Cows #Dairy #FutureofFarming *Availability of products may differ by region.

  • VMS Batch Milking is on the rise! As dairy farmers seek more efficient ways to manage larger herds, VMS Batch Milking is gaining popularity worldwide. Already in use on 20 farms across 13 countries with more underway, it is expected that installations will double each year. Designed for medium- to large-scale operations – typically 300 or more cows – the DeLaval VMS™ Batch Milking system was first introduced more than five years ago to help address some of the industry’s most pressing challenges: labour shortages, rising costs, and the increasing demand for efficiency, flexibility, and scalability. It does this by harnessing the benefits of robotic milking with batch milking principles. Unlike traditional voluntary milking systems (VMS), where cows are milked autonomously at any time, or parlour milking, which follows a fixed schedule and requires manual labour, VMS Batch Milking combines both scheduled milking and automation. By grouping cows for scheduled milking and using VMS milking robots, it increases milk production, improves cow comfort, milk quality, cow flow, milk production efficiency, and labour efficiency, while still maintaining current feeding strategies and reducing the need for expensive concentrates. Johan and Willem Loonen from Boerderij De Boterpot, Merselo, the Netherlands (pictured), explain how VMS Batch Milking has increased productivity and tackled labour challenges: “With our rotary we couldn’t expand to three milkings a day, but with VMS Batch Milking we can. And we can handle that third milking without additional staff, while having a better balance between work, sleep, and family.” They milk milk 500 cows using 11 VMS V310 robots. Robert Jensen, VMS Batch Milking Specialist at DeLaval, explains that VMS Batch Milking is effective because it is grounded in real-world experience: “We spent a lot of time on farms, understanding their needs and finding solutions to address their challenges,” he says. "Initially, batch milking was used primarily by larger farms with 500 cows, but now we are seeing more and more smaller farms with around 300 cows recognising the advantages for their business. Therefore, I wouldn’t be surprised to see installations double each year as more farms adopt the system to meet the demands of modern dairy farming.” • Read our news article in full here: https://ow.ly/IBW450V9gax • Visit our VMS Batch Milking website to learn more: https://ow.ly/L8SA50V9gaa #DeLaval #TeamBlue #WeLiveMilk #Dairy #VMSBatchMilking *Individual results may differ; information does not constitute warranty/guarantee of service or performance.

2025 has begun with an exciting achievement: Pakistan has installed its first rotary milking system! The 50-bail DeLaval E500, now operational at Omega Farms, marks the dawn of intelligent rotary milking in the country. The rotary has been installed at Omega-2 in Okara, a district in the province of Punjab, about a 2.5-hour drive from the capital city of Lahore. The farm milks 580 animals three times daily on the rotary. Hanif Abdani, owner of Omega Group, says he was drawn to the system’s advanced technology, increased efficiency, reduced labour requirements, lower maintenance costs, and durability. He explains that the key reasons for choosing DeLaval were our high quality, our longstanding relationship with Omega Dairy, and our strong partnership with DeLaval dealer ProFarm, who worked on the project with us: "We are especially grateful for the parlour milking system you supplied and installed for us in 2021. Your professionalism and dedication to quality left a lasting impression, which led us to place an order for Pakistan’s first rotary milking system in 2024." The parlour installed in 2021 is at Omega Dairy’s second farm, Omega-1, which is equipped with a 2x25 DeLaval parlour that milks around 2,000 animals three times a day. Abdani continues: “At Omega Dairy Pty Ltd, we extend our sincere appreciation to DeLaval for their exceptional service, commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards, and provision of advanced milking solutions. This significant milestone for our company would not have been possible without their outstanding support. We highly commend their efficient and timely supply chain management, ensuring seamless delivery and installation. Their reliability and professionalism have greatly contributed to our success, and we are pleased to continue our collaboration with such a trusted partner.” It is certainly exciting to witness and be a part of the growth of Pakistan’s dairy industry! #DeLaval #TeamBlue #WeLiveMilk #Innovation #Dairy *Availability of products may differ by region.

🌟 From grass to gold: Knockeen Farm’s award-winning cheese journey 🏆🧀 Nestled in the lush valley of Tullow, Co. Carlow, Irish dairy farm Knockeen Farm is making waves on the global cheese stage! 🏅 This year, their handcrafted, grass-fed raw milk cheese won gold at the 2024 World Cheese Awards, adding to an impressive streak of accolades—including super gold in 2023, gold at the British Cheese Awards, and four consecutive supreme champion titles at the Irish Cheese Awards. At the heart of this success are Tom Burgess & Joseph O’Grady, who manage a 280-strong Jersey/Friesian cross herd, producing premium-quality milk ideal for cheesemaking. Their commitment to grass-fed dairy, traditional craftsmanship, and modern innovation has propelled Knockeen Farm to excellence. Some keys to their success include: 🔹 A quality-first approach: Only milk from the seven-month grazing season is used for cheese, ensuring rich, complex flavours. 🔹Efficient milking: In 2016, a new 20-point DeLaval ML2100 MidiLine swing-over parlour was installed, replacing the original setup that had served for 25 years. This upgrade introduced features such as automatic cluster removers, Evanza clusters, and a cluster flush system that automatically cleans each cluster with detergent, helping to maintain low somatic cell counts (SCC) and ensuring high milk quality—crucial for raw milk cheese production. 🔹 Precision cheesemaking: Cheese wheels mature 12 to 18 months in cloth bindings, allowing unique flavours to develop. With the support of DeLaval’s milking solutions, Knockeen Farm has been able to improve efficiency, enhance cow comfort, and uphold excellent milk quality—essential for crafting their award-winning raw milk cheese. 🔗 Read the full article here: https://ow.ly/mlqH50V6eTR #DeLaval #TeamBlue #WeLiveMilk #Dairy #Cheese #WorldCheeseAwards *Availability of products may differ by region.
