The fourth founder of Elva Malmö is here! Filip Lindqvist is now joining the Elva Serverless train. Filip is a senior backend engineer with extensive experience in building cloud-native environments for companies at scale. The passion for the cloud was born in seeing Spotify move from on-premise data centers into cloud-native environments and seeing the game-changing abilities that it brings. This fueled his passion for serverless and the opportunities of using cloud to its fullest potential. He’s been consulting for over ten years and is excited to join the Elva team in Malmö to help clients go serverless with Amazon Web Services. The past year has been a whirlwind for Filip! He got married in May, bought a house 🏡, and moved to Malmö in September. When he's not coding, you can find him dancing Lindy Hop and Bugg, or exploring the city on a run - past the Turning Torso, the long beaches, and other landmarks.  Elva is a powerhouse of senior cloud experts, focusing exclusively on AWS and Serverless, and we are excited to help new clients in the Öresund region. Yesterday, #Elva Group had the privilege of participating in Halland Tech Week, contributing to the conversation on two key topics shaping the future of business: AI & Machine Learning and Twin Transformation. As a speaker, Tobias Edvardsson explored how AI and machine learning can unlock new efficiencies and innovation across industries. Elva Group will participate in Halland Tech Week on the 15th of October in Varberg, contributing to two key discussions highlighting the intersection of industry and advanced technology. This is a yearly event by Halland Tech. AI and Machine Learning in Practice with AWS Tobias Edvardsson from Elva Group will deliver a presentation focused on the practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) using Amazon Web Services (AWS). He will share insights into how these technologies are transforming traditional industries by providing real-world examples. Specifically, Edvardsson will discuss Elva Group’s collaboration with #Derome, a large Swedish timber company, where they have successfully implemented sensors in one of Derome’s sawmills. These sensors are used to monitor equipment in real-time and, with the help of machine learning and AI, predict when machinery is likely to fail or require maintenance—this process is known as predictive maintenance. By using this technology, Derome will be able to improve operational efficiency, minimize downtime, and reduce maintenance costs, demonstrating the power of AI and ML in optimizing industrial processes. Panel Discussion: The Role of Industry in a Digitalized Future Anders Eriksson from Elva Group will contribute to a panel discussion exploring how digital transformation is reshaping the industrial sector. As industries worldwide embrace digital technologies, the role of traditional manufacturing and production is evolving. This panel will address the opportunities and challenges that arise as companies adopt new technologies such as AI, automation, and the Internet of Things (IoT). 👉 Serverless tip #19: Improve developer experience by debugging Lambda functions locally. — Developers are often used to being able to run and debug locally, speeding up their feedback loop. Running Serverless and managed services has made this more difficult. Tools such as LocalStack exist to emulate AWS services locally, but they will never be a replica of the actual services. To properly verify that your code and infrastructure work as expected, especially regarding IAM, you must test it in the cloud. But if you must deploy every change to your Lambda functions to test, it slows your feedback loop. What if there is a way to have the cake and eat it, too? Enter Lambda Live Debugging. Debug your Lambda functions locally while remotely executing them in the cloud. You can hook API Gateway and DynamoDB streams to your Lambda functions and debug those functions on your machine. They run as if they were in a cloud context, with real events and their actual IAM permissions. There are tools like Lambda Live Debugger and samp-cli or frameworks such as SST that give you this superpower. While all tools differ a bit in implementation, they generally work by intercepting the invocations to your functions and transmitting them to your local machine. He began his journey in the industry a decade ago and is passionate about building scalable solutions that meet business needs and benefit society. When the opportunity to join Elva came along, with the chance to reunite with former colleagues and build a leading brand of AWS experts, it was something he couldn’t resist. David now lives in Stockholm with his partner, Emilia, and enjoys spending his free time surfing, scuba diving, and working on projects at his family’s summer house in Höga Kusten. #elva #aws #serverless
