  • Have you secured you spot for Enact's Sustainability Due Diligence course? You can still sign up for the advanced sessions this Autumn, or join the full course next Spring! Enact is proud to offer our popular and comprehensive course in 10 modules during Autumn (October – January) and Spring (February – May), updated to align with the content of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. After years of successfully training practitioners in the field of human rights, we know that comprehensive learning, effective knowledge transfer, and capacity building requires a longer period of engagement. This inspired us to create a game-changing course series that enables you to delve deeper and truly develop your expertise over time. “An excellent course, competent trainers and I can warmly recommend it to anyone working in the field of sustainability.” “The course has had just the right mix of theory and practice, I have gained a lot. It comes highly recommended.” (Quotes from previous participants 2022, 2023) Information about the course: Duration: 10 online LIVE sessions (5 basic and 5 advanced) carefully designed for your optimal learning. Each session lasts 3 hours and is designed through learning components: - curated lectures by our experts, - practical implementation, - case examples, - group discussion and learning. Recordings are available after the sessions for the duration of the training. The training will be conducted in English, in Zoom. • The vote on potentially stopping the German Supply Chain Act until the CSDDDD is transposed was rejected (end of last week) meaning that the LkSG will stay active until the CSDDD takes over in Germany.    Many celebrate it as this is giving better hope for a quicker and more ambitious transposition of the CSDDD in Germany which might have positive effect also in other EU countries.

On Tuesday, the Swedish Business and Human Rights Network gathered for the third meeting of 2024. The day focused on raising grievances and concerns for value chain workers and leveraging influence in human rights due diligence. The morning session with Karin Iseman focused on the complexities and challenges of setting up grievance processes. We explored essential questions such as who should handle local grievances in large multinational organisations, the training required for those involved in processing complaints, and how to effectively communicate these channels to ensure trust among workers. A special thank you to our speaker, Axel Kollberg, Sustainability Manager at Systembolaget AB, for sharing invaluable insights during the afternoon session. Axel highlighted the importance of leverage in human rights due diligence, illustrating how companies can influence suppliers and partners to mitigate human rights risks. His practical examples and lessons learned provided a unique perspective on the successes and challenges faced by Systembolaget as a state-owned monopoly. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to engaging and important conversations! If you are interested in joining the network, please reach out to Sandra Atler or Clara Selderman.
