Focali is a multidisciplinary research network devoted to tackling challenges related to global forest, land-use, climate, biodiversity and livelihood issues. We gather leading experts within a broad range of the social and natural sciences. Focali members are predominantly based within Swedish universities and institutions while connecting research environments within both Sweden and globally.
The Focali secretariat is hosted by Wexsus - West Sweden Nexsus for Sustainable Development at the University of Gothenburg. Focali collaborates broadly with other actors in our field and has a particularly close collaboration with the Swedish International Agriculture Network Initiative SIANI funded by Sida and hosted by SEI.
Focali aim to inform policy and practice, acting as a bridge between research environments and society to understand the challenges and evidence-based solutions needed for the future of forest, climate, and livelihoods.
Our members are active in research, capacity building and other forms of collaborations across the globe, spanning from the rainforests in the Amazon to the drylands of the Sahel.
Connect with us if you are interested to learn more about our work, become a member or partner up with us!
A new Focali webpage is under development and some information on the current web as the list of members is not up to date. Please contact Maria Ölund Project Leader of the Focali research network and Focali partnerships if you have any questions or partnership suggestions: maria.olund@gu.se
