Gasum opens Norway’s largest biogas station in Bærum ⛽ Gasum has opened a biogas filling station west of Oslo, significantly expanding its biogas infrastructure in Norway. The biogas filling station, built in cooperation with landowner Eiendomsspar, offers compressed and liquefied biogas in response to an increased demand for sustainable fuels in Norway. 🌿 The Skui station is Gasum's seventh LBG filling station in Norway and the 50th LBG filling station in the Nordic countries. 🗨️ “We are very excited to expand our network of gas filling stations in Norway. This is an important step in continuing to develop the infrastructure around Oslo and make it possible to drive on biogas all over southern Norway by the end of 2025. I am happy to see considerable interest in biogas in Norway by major logistics players. Gasum and Wasaline have signed a Letter of Intent on building the first large-scale commercial FuelEU Maritime pooling service. 🚢🌍 Wasaline operates a hybrid ferry that can run on batteries as well as LNG and bio-LNG, transporting passengers and cargo between Finland and Sweden. By running its daily route on bio-LNG, Wasaline will provide over-compliance to the pool. Gasum will manage the pool, supply ultra-low emission bio-LNG, and offer over-compliance to shipping companies with conventional fuel vessels. Gasum chooses Litra as strategic logistics partner in the Nordic area 🚚🌍 Gasum has entered into a long-term partnership with Litra, one of Scandinavia’s leading transport companies. Starting in fall 2024, Litra will manage the transportation of our liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied biogas (LBG) products across the Nordic region. Transports have already been running on gas in Norway and Sweden, but going forward, Gasum’s products will be transported with liquefied biogas also in Finland. Gasum's biogas enables the first green freight corridor in the Baltic Sea 🚢🌱 Felix ketchup, produced by the Orkla Group in Fågelmara, began to be shipped to Finland using green biofuels in July. This collaboration with Orkla Suomi, Scandic Trans, and Viking Line marks a significant step towards sustainable logistics. Scandic Trans refuels its lorries with biofuel produced from hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), while Viking Line buys liquefied biogas (LBG) produced with organic waste from Gasum to cover fuel use during transport. 🚢 Gasum to supply bio-LNG to Hapag-Lloyd 🌱 Gasum will provide 20,000 metric tons of bio-LNG to Hapag-Lloyd over 2025-2026. This agreement supports the first Zero Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance (ZEMBA) tender, aiming for a minimum 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The bio-LNG will be used on a route between Rotterdam and Singapore.
