Thank you Jfokus for a great conference and thank you for having me as a speaker. Over the three days I was involved in two talks with very different themes. Links to slides are now up on the Jfokus page (follow links below) and the recordings will probably be there in a week or so. - "Internal AI solutions - from hype to production", together with my colleagues Maria K. and Julius Pettersson. A resume of our solutions, learnings and discoveries over the past eight months using open source software to build and run AI in-house. Slides and more info found here: https://lnkd.in/eJpKnkAQ - "Architecture Decision Records". Not new, but a lightweight and easy way to document the "why" of what the software architecture looks like. Slides and more info found here: https://lnkd.in/eqDDNjRA

Thanks for coming to Stockholm and Jfokus
AI Advisor • Head of Enterprise Architecture • AWS Hero (Machine Learning) • Award-Winning Engineer • International Keynote Speaker • Host LAItency Unplugged Podcast
This week, I had the incredible honor of delivering the opening keynote at Jfokus 2025, which took place at the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel in #Stockholm, Sweden. Speaking to a packed room of developers, architects, and technologists, I explored a topic that’s shaping the future of our industry: how AI is transforming the role of developers and what we must do to adapt. One of the key messages from my talk was that developers are no longer just writing code—they are becoming strategic enablers, #AI overseers, system architects, and orchestrators of complex systems. The rise of #GenAI and no-code/low-code platforms has democratized development, making everyone a developer. So where does that leave us? 🔥 This slide from my talk sums it up: 🔹 Good Practices – Developers must enable citizen developers & AI to work better through best practices, governance, and collaboration. 🔹 Oversee AI – AI is powerful, but it needs human oversight. Developers must guide AI to be more effective, ethical, and aligned with business needs. 🔹 System Architects – With AI and automation shaping software engineering, developers are now architects, designing and integrating AI-driven solutions across entire organizations. 🔹 System Orchestrators – Developers will play a strategic role in orchestrating AI-powered systems and hybrid workflows. 💡 Key Takeaways: ✅ AI is shifting the developer role from execution to strategy. ✅ The ability to collaborate with AI is becoming a key skill. ✅ Developers must embrace new responsibilities like governance and system design. ✅ The most valuable developers won’t just be great coders—they’ll be AI-enhanced problem solvers. 🎤 One thing I told the audience: To remain relevant, we must learn AI and build AI. Developers who do this will lead the next era of software engineering. 🔥 I’d love to hear your thoughts—how do you see the developer role evolving with AI? #Jfokus #AI #SoftwareEngineering #GenAI #FutureOfWork
