Bioanalysis of Liraglutide, a challenging GLP-1 receptor agonist, using LC-MS/MS   Lablytica Life Science AB is proud to announce that the first PK plasma study samples containing Liraglutide for the Nanexa NEX-22 project have been analyzed. The bioanalytical method development has been challenging due to the chemical properties of this peptide. Especially the unspecific binding of this glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 receptor agonist) can cause issues.   The bioanalytical method was validated according to the new ICH M10 guidelines using a Waters Acquity I Class UPLC and an Acquity Premier C8 column coupled to a Xevo TQ-S MS system. In a future iteration of this method, we are looking into using our new Xevo TQ Absolute MS to further increase the sensitivity of this assay.   NEX-22 is a PharmaShell® reformulation of Liraglutide with a one-month release that can replace today's treatment with daily or weekly injections of liraglutide and other GLP-1 analogs. #weknowbioanalysis #PKplasmastudies #nanexa #waters #liraglutide #GLP-1 #bioanalysis #LC-MS/MS
