PORTFOLIO NEWS: Cyclicor secures new funding and hires Perstorp executive 🎉 Cyclicor, a Lund University spin-off, aims to replace harmful plastics with bio-based polymers. The company has successfully closed a 4.8 MSEK investment round and welcomes Bo Häggman as its new CEO.   "I am incredibly excited to take on the role of CEO and co-investor in Cyclicor. By collaborating with world-leading furniture brands and strong chemical partners, we aim to revolutionize the market with a unique polymer technology," says Bo Häggman   Existing investors, including business angels and LU Holding, have participated in this round, along with the new investor I Love Lund. How can we as a society become better at handling floods? Petter Pilesjö, Abdulghani Hasan and Andreas Persson have been researching how water moves in various environments for 30 years: To build resilient societies and act proactively, we need to understand how water flows in different scenarios. ❗ The problem the three researchers saw was that the current tools for creating flood simulations were too slow, complicated and expensive. What if they could find a simpler way? 🎊 With a new type of algorithm, they were able to perform advanced flood simulations faster and easier than before. They decided to set up the company PluvioFlow and are now at the stage where they are starting pilots with a few selected customers. 📣 News: Portfolio company Asgard Therapeutics announces €30 million Series A financing 📣 Asgard's AT-108 is an innovative gene therapy that reprograms cancer cells so that the body's immune system can attack them, offering a new approach beyond conventional cell therapies. “We believe this breakthrough strategy will give rise to the next generation of cell therapies.” says Cristiana Pires, Co-founder and CEO of Asgard Therapeutics. The funds will be used to support development of Asgard´s lead program and expand its R&D team to further develop AT-108 and broaden their in vivo reprogramming #pipeline. The round was co-led by RV Invest and Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JJDC, Inc., with participation from existing investors Novo Holdings, Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund and Industrifonden.
