We are in beautiful Oviedo in Spain 🇪🇸 to participate in the National Congress of Radiation Therapy, SEOR. This morning we arranged a breakfast meeting focusing on quality of life for patients undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. We return with even stronger confidence that we can play a important role in modern prostate cancer treatment. #SBRT, #Prostatcancer, #Raypilot

🇪🇸 The Raypilot System is gaining traction in #SBRT for #prostatecancer patients in Spain. Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid is one of the hospitals currently using the system clinically. Dr. Luis Glaría at the hospital’s radiotherapy department shares his insights on the system's impact on patient quality of life: “Overall, they see it as a short treatment technique with few adverse effects on the genitourinary system, especially because they recover quickly.” Will you be attending SEOR .es? On September 26 Micropos Medical will host a breakfast meeting about the Raypilot system, the latest studies, and practical insights into clinical implementation. Book your seat: Please reach out to Eduardo Urcelay at eduardo.urcelay@micropos.se for more information and an invitation badge. Please note that this is an invite-only event. #SBRT #ProstateCancer #SEOR2024

Prostate Cancer Awareness Day Today, we pause to recognize the individuals and families affected by prostate cancer. It is a time to reflect on the impact of this disease and the importance of continued innovation in diagnosis, treatment, and care. In 2020, prostate cancer accounted for 23.2% of all new cancer cases diagnosed in men across EU-27 countries (excluding non-melanoma skin cancers). These statistic underscores the need for ongoing research and support. At Micropos we are deeply grateful for our dedicated team, supporters, and the healthcare professionals who are pushing the boundaries of prostate cancer treatment. Together, we are committed to advancing the science and improving outcomes for patients worldwide. Let’s continue to support groundbreaking research and drive progress towards a future with high quality of life for patients undergoing prostate cancer treatment. #ProstateCancer #ProstateCancerAwarenessDay #Healthcare

Yesterday, we hosted an insightful webinar with Prof. Duncan McLaren! Prof. McLaren discussed the PACE B study, highlighting potential links between acute GU toxicity and late toxicity. Some data also suggest that the use of fiducial markers and a regular LINAC also might be associated with higher toxicity. A key question raised: What are the benefits of using a catheter in prostate SBRT? This will be investigated in the upcoming PRECISION trial, a phase 2 study launching soon in the EU and US. The team in Scotland is just weeks away from enrolling their first patient, with 100 patients being the initial goal for all starting centers. The conversation also revolved around how the urethra is becoming the “new kid on the block” in prostate SBRT. More professionals are recognizing the patient benefits of focusing on the urethra, which naturally integrates into the workflow when using a catheter that enables urethra outlining during SBRT. Interested in learning more? We’re considering a follow-up session later this fall. By then, several centers, including Edinburgh, will have started the three-fraction protocol. Thanks to Prof. McLaren and everyone who joined! #ProstateCancer #SBRT #Radiotheraphy #Raypilot

Prof. Arcangeli shares the success of single-dose radiotherapy treatment on Italy's national radio, Channel 1. Micropos spoke with Prof. Arcangeli, who summarized the program's content: - The non-invasive organ motion monitoring provided by Raypilot has allowed for the safe delivery of a single session of prostate SBRT. This has further increased the appeal of highly hypofractionated radiotherapy while enhancing its cost-effectiveness, said Prof. Arcangeli. Prof. Arcangeli also explains in the program that prostate cancer radiotherapy treatments traditionally span several weeks. Still, with this advanced technique, they can treat patients in just one session – technically called radiosurgery. By treating patients in a single application, they can not only shorten waiting lists but also increase efficiency at radiotherapy centers, where prostate cancer cases are among the most prevalent. He means that this breakthrough benefits both patients and healthcare providers. Thank you to the Professor Arcangeli and the Monza team for your work and dedication in improving prostate cancer treatment. #Raypilot #MonzaTeam #NewResearch #ProstateCancer #SDRT #Radiotherapy

A new publication from Edinburgh Cancer Centre shows positive patient outcomes and improved clinical workflow. "Being able to insert the transmitter during a normal catheterization procedure, eliminating a surgical appointment, has not only proven to be beneficial to the scheduling of treatment sessions but has allowed RTTs to be involved throughout the whole pathway", says Joanne Mitchell, Research Radiographer from Edinburgh Cancer Centre. The study concludes that "reassuringly monitoring prostatic motion, via the urethra, has not proven to be detrimental to the dose delivered to the bladder and rectum when compared to the original device. Acceptable, acute, patient-reported toxicities are reported for both groups. At the time of treatment delivery having the ability to control bladder volume, by way of the catheter, has helped with a more efficient workflow". First Raypilot System Order in the U.S The company is pleased to announce that its U.S. subsidiary, Micropos Medical Inc., has received an order to deliver a Raypilot System to MUSC in Charleston, USA Dr. David Marshall, Chief Physician and experienced radiation oncologist at MUSC, stated: "Raypilot will enhance the care for our prostate cancer patients treated with SBRT. With Raypilot, we can improve accuracy when dealing with organ movement and thus reduce radiation exposure to healthy adjacent tissue. The Raypilot Hypocath also allows us to protect the urethra and control bladder filling with a single piece of equipment, which is unique. This leads to increased precision and reduced toxicity, ultimately improving the quality of life for this patient group." This initial U.S. order marks a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing expansion into the American market, according to the company’s management. #Raypilot #MUSC #NewOrder #US #ProstateCancer #SBRT

Raypilot Community Meeting in Gothenburg We were delighted to welcome some of our advisory board members and most experienced Raypilot users to Gothenburg earlier in July. The meeting focused on sharing experiences and discussing promising results in the research conducted so far, as well as discussing the upcoming #PRECISION study and exploring new ideas to strengthen collaboration among the group and the seventeen Raypilot centers to date. This kind of collaboration and experience sharing is invaluable in developing and exploring new possibilities within the field of prostate cancer treatment. In addition to the discussions, we enjoyed a boat ride through the beautiful Swedish archipelago and had the classic Swedish fika with cinnamon buns. It was a pleasure to host our users from Austria, Italy, and the UK at the Micropos Medical HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden! We are looking forward to upcoming #Raypilot User Meetings later this fall! #MicroposMedical #RaypilotCommunity #ProstateCancer
