As a part of Nefab’s efforts to save resources in our own supply chain, we would like to highlight 3 different solar energy initiatives taking place in different regions. The first project is Nefab Packaging Estonia's supply security investments where we have received support from the European Union's NextGenerationEU recovery fund to establish a solar power plant. The second project is being implemented at Nefab China’s Wuxi factory, where we have achieved a significant milestone by successfully connecting its rooftop solar power project to the grid. This marks the factory's transition to using green energy, underscoring our commitment to saving resources. The third project was initiated in 2022 with the increased capacity of solar plants in three different locations in India. This project also includes introducing battery-powered forklifts, CNG fueled vehicles, an idle time automation system and CFL lights. Through these efforts, Nefab continues to move towards our goal to internally reduce CO2 emissions in alignment with the Paris agreement. At Nefab, we recognize that there is an increasing demand in companies of all sizes for environmental, social, and governance strategies. More specifically, for companies, packaging is one of the key levers that can optimize supply chains. Therefore, we have developed our own Life Cycle Assessment tool called GreenCalc which provides an in-depth analysis of the environmental and financial impact that packaging can have on logistics flows. Following sustainable design guidelines, we ensure that all packaging solutions are produced according to the 3Rs principle. In this way, we continue to work towards our overall purpose of saving resources in supply chains, for a better tomorrow. Charles de Muizon, Group Sustainability Director, recently shared his insights with International Filtration News on the importance of accurate reporting and the challenges facing companies that want to focus on ESG initiatives, including emissions within the supply chain environment.
