We are delighted to announce that our #biodiversity strategy aligns with the It's #NowForNature campaign, a global initiative encouraging businesses and financial institutions to create and share strategies that contribute to a #naturepositive future. “We’re proud to be part of this initiative, showcasing how we work to contribute to halting and reversing biodiversity loss. Our biodiversity strategy guides us in how to act and implement concrete measures in our projects whilst continuously learning and developing our approach.” says Linda Strindevall, Environment and Climate Change Manager at OX2. The list of qualified companies, including OX2, was unveiled at the UN Biodiversity Conference #COP16 in Colombia. The conference focuses on implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework, the blueprint to reset humanity’s relationship with the natural world. OX2 has signed an #assetmanagement agreement with Nuveen Infrastructure for the Piiparinmäki wind farm in #Finland. OX2 will be responsible for the technical, commercial and financial management of the 41-turbine / 211 MW #windfarm, to ensure optimal asset performance. “We are very happy that Nuveen Infrastructure have extended our collaboration and entrusted us with the management of the Piiparinmäki wind farm. This collaboration further solidifies our position as a leading Asset Manager in the Nordics and becomes the 20th asset in our current management portfolio which is developed and constructed by others than OX2,” says Lars Bryngelsson, Managing Director OX2 TCM. OX2 manages a total of 1,090 wind turbines, with a total capacity of 5.5 gigawatts. This year marks 20 years since OX2 was founded, in 2004. Today, we begin an exciting new chapter as we transition to being fully owned by global investment organization EQT Group, following our delisting from the Nasdaq Stockholm stock exchange yesterday. We want to thank everyone who has supported us along the way, and we look forward to continuing this journey together as we step into the future. Last week, we announced the acquisition of our first #onshore wind power project in #Australia. The project, which is in an early stage, is located a few hours north of Perth, in Western Australia. In this interview Catherine Way, Director of Development OX2 Australia, discusses what makes Western Australia an attractive location, project specifics, and what’s next for OX2’s wind expansion in Australia. “I’m proud that we’re now delivering on the promise OX2 made when entering Australia: to expand into onshore wind,” says Catherine. We are delighted to announce the acquisition of our first #onshorewind power project in #Australia. The project is located a few hours north of Perth, in Western Australia, and the site involves more than 20 landowners. The original project developers will work closely with OX2 to continue to manage the approval process, as part of the acquisition. “This is a great achievement by our Australian team. It fulfills the promise made when OX2 entered Australia, that the company would expand into onshore wind. We look forward to realizing this project, which is our first in Western Australia. Australia is on the road to decarbonization and has great opportunities to leverage its natural resources with excellent conditions for wind and solar power,” says Rachel Watson, Country Manager OX2 Australia. The planned total installed capacity is up to 1 GW and will also include a 100 MW battery #energystorage system (indicative size). Since entering the Australian market in 2023, OX2 has divested three solar projects, and our growing local team is preparing to manage the construction of one of those projects. We currently have solar projects of about 1 GW and energy storage projects of 230 MW in the states of Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland in our project development portfolio. We are delighted to announce the appointment of Roshan Saldanha as new Chief Financial Officer at OX2. He will take on his position in April 2025 and be a member of the Leadership Team at OX2. Roshan brings nearly 25 years of financial experience to OX2, from several different industries and listed companies. He currently holds the position as Chief Financial Officer at Sinch, a global cloud communications platform. “I am happy to welcome Roshan to OX2. We are in very exciting times where the great shift towards a sustainable future is picking up speed and we see interesting opportunities in many of our markets. Roshan’s experience from leading growth journeys from a financial perspective will be highly relevant for OX2 in the coming years,” says Paul Stormoen, CEO, OX2. “I'm excited to join OX2 at this pivotal moment. The company is entering a new stage as a company in the EQT portfolio with the ambition to transform to an independent power producer. At the same time, we see innovation driving the clean power transition. Nasdaq Stockholm has approved the delisting application. On 25 September 2024, OX2 announced that its board of directors had applied for delisting of the shares in OX2 from Nasdaq Stockholm in accordance with the request from EQT Infrastructure VI, through Otello BidCo AB, which in connection with its public offer has become the owner of more than 90 per cent of all shares in OX2. Nasdaq Stockholm has now approved the delisting application. The last day of trading in the shares in OX2 on Nasdaq Stockholm will be 21 October 2024. Press release: https://lnkd.in/dMh4JHbJ

Ministerstwo Klimatu i Środowiska przekazało do konsultacji publicznych długo wyczekiwany projekt nowelizacji ustawy o inwestycjach w zakresie elektrowni wiatrowych. 💨 - Potrzebna jest większa elastyczność w lokalizowaniu turbin wiatrowych. Sztywne odległości od form ochrony przyrody – zarówno obszarów Natura 2000, jak i parków narodowych - są złym rozwiązaniem, ponieważ każdy teren jest inny. Ptaki czy nietoperze nie latają w sztucznie ustalonym promieniu. W ramach przygotowań do budowy farm wiatrowych każdorazowo przeprowadzane są badania środowiskowe, w których bierze udział m.in. ornitolog, chiropterolog czy przyrodnik. Niezbędny dystans powinien być określany na podstawie tych ponadrocznych monitoringów – tłumaczy Marta Głód, Dyrektor ds. rozwoju projektów OZE OX2 w materiale Dziennik Gazeta Prawna. Branża już od dawna czekała na zmniejszenie minimalnej odległości turbin od zabudowań do 500 m, co pozwoliłoby uwolnić potencjał energetyki wiatrowej, która jest jednym z filarów działalności OX2. 📣 Pierwszego dnia wydarzenia @Energy Days 2024 Marta Głód, dyrektor ds. rozwoju projektów w OX2 Polska wzięła udział w panelu dyskusyjnym „Lądowa energetyka wiatrowa w Polsce. Usługi dla energetyki wiatrowej”. ✅     – Rozwój lądowych farm wiatrowych w Polsce ma olbrzymi wpływ na PKB, rynek pracy i sytuację zakładów produkcyjnych. Realizacja kolejnych projektów onshore wind niewątpliwie zwiększy aktywność polskich przedsiębiorstw działających w łańcuchu dostaw.  Aby stało się to rzeczywistością, konieczna jest sprawna realizacja planów przez organy instytucjonalne, która pozwoliłaby branży wiatrowej na rozkwit na polskim lądzie – mówiła podczas Energy Days Marta Głód.
