If you did not get a chance to go this year, you need to go next year. One of the best conferences I have attended by far. Impact Day. Impact Day is the largest impact and sustainability festival in the Baltics and Nordics and it is hosted in the epic city of Tallinn, where design and technology are everywhere you look. The most amazing space, an old rubber factor turned into a creative masterpiece, a deep focus on networking and creating contacts, extremely engaging speakers and topics, and an important one, local sustainable and delicious food. Big thank you to our amazing partners and hosts Kerly Piirsalu, who not only helped orchestrate and smoothly run Impact Day but also the prep the day before where our Reach for Change Baltic Sea Network of social entrepreneurs got a chance to connect and attend a few workshops. You're a 🌟 It was also personally special for me to get a chance meet those amazing entrepreneurs in our program and connect with our team in the Baltics. Reach for Change Baltics. 🇳🇴 Touchdown Oslo, Norway Yesterday we together with The Inner Foundation and Tim Bergling Foundation held our very first roundtable discussion for #NextinMind in Oslo. And what an amazing first experience. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came and shared your knowledge, insights and input to needed actions for Emerging Adults mental health and well-being in Norway. A extra thank you to Ole Johannes Ferkingstad, member of of our Emerging Adult Advisory Board, who fantastically lead us through the day 💥 A few key takeaways from the conversations: 💰 Long term investment into existing solutions - there are already solutions out there ready to scale and collaborate with public and private sector. We need to make the funding in social innovations more stable and focused on prevention and skill-building. 💬 Community building - We need to build stronger communities and develop activities that strengthen the sense of belonging for emerging adults. 📃 Policy changes - mental health should be a part of how we measure success in a country, a wellbeing index. 🤝 Cross-sector partnerships - We need to break the barriers between public, private and civil society to create sustainable wellbeing for emerging adults. 💚 “It’s fantastic to see people get back to life again” Christer Nordin is the founder of No-addict Scandinavia OÜ, an organization working with addiction treatment and prevention. Though it began in Sweden, the organization now operates in Estonia, with plans to expand its work throughout the Baltic region. 🧏🏻 Their biggest challenge has been getting people to listen: “There’s so much guilt and shame surrounding this issue.” 💪 However, Christer believes that with time, patience, and support, their program can help individuals rediscover the best versions of themselves. 🤝 The Baltic Sea Impact Network has opened up new opportunities for collaboration with other organisations in the region interested in tackling challenges related to addiction and mental health.
