  • At GDC today, our CEO Tommy Palm shared how we’ve been experimenting with the Quest Passthrough Camera API during a Meta Developer Summit panel. We know not everyone could be there, so here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to. Enter Twenty Guys - our most ridiculous, violent, funny, and cute project yet. It’s a game where you play with ragdolls, then torture them in the most absurd ways possible. Right now, our game (available in Early Access) uses employee photos for the faces, but wouldn’t it be better if players could upload their own photos? Click, click and violá, each player has their own funny picture face. With the Passthrough Camera API, we’ve been able to make this a reality! Not only can players swap faces in seconds, the technology also allows customized outfits just as easily. Click, click and suddenly your guys are rocking a new look. It’s the dream ragdoll game! Right now, what we’ve made using the Passthrough Camera API is just a prototype, but we hope to bring these new features to players soon. Want to try Twenty Guys?   • We're pushing the boundaries of AI in XR gaming with today’s update to Racket Club. To celebrate, we want to share a bit about how we’ve harnessed advanced deep machine learning to revolutionize virtual opponents. All of our AI-driven bots in the game are trained on anonymous gameplay data, making their play shots and tactics virtually indistinguishable from human opponents. How did we do this? We implemented a groundbreaking use of imitation learning to create digital opponents that move, act, and react just like real players. Traditional AI techniques, like finite state machines and behavior trees, can create predictable, exploitable opponents. Reinforcement learning improves decision-making but still relies on a limited set of animations. The result? AI that feels robotic, not human. By analyzing real gameplay data, Racket Club's AI learns from actual players, creating virtual opponents that not only think strategically but also move naturally. Whether it's anticipating an opponent's shot or scrambling to return a perfectly angled hit, these AI competitors react in ways that feel authentic—not just programmed. And the best part? With ongoing data collection (from consenting players), these virtual athletes will continue to evolve, becoming increasingly advanced and natural in their play over time. This is more than just an advancement for Racket Club—it’s a game-changer for the future of AI in immersive gaming. We believe this approach could redefine how digital humans interact in virtual worlds, setting a new standard for realism, competition, and fun. Curious to see it in action? Created with our award-winning Demeo Action Roleplaying System, Battlemarked arms you with tactical might and magic to deploy alongside friends as you work co-operatively to vanquish the forces of evil. Battlemarked is a DM-less system that focuses on social strategy, encouraging group tabletalk focused on tactics and decision-making.
