In an interview with Reinsurance News, David G., Group President and CEO of Global Reinsurance at SiriusPoint, discussed Bermuda’s continued dominance as a reinsurance hub, highlighting its innovation, capacity, strategic location, and regulatory framework, while also noting the challenge of high operating costs.

Lloyd Holder, Chief Information Security Officer at SiriusPoint, will once again be taking part in a series of lectures provided by Bermuda College, in partnership the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR) and St. John’s University.   Special Topics in Insurance is a 14-week course designed to cover the evolution of Bermuda's re/insurance industry and its economic significance. Lloyd will present on cyber risks, along with George B Alayon Jr., Deputy Director, Supervision (Insurance) at the Bermuda Monetary Authority .   Lloyd is incredibly passionate about sharing knowledge, providing an insight into a career in the industry, and inspiring future talent. He said: “I am grateful for the opportunity to discuss cybersecurity and to inspire more Bermudian talent to pursue careers in international business.”

In recognition of International Women’s Day, we dedicated an entire week to celebrate the incredible contributions of women at SiriusPoint and across the industry, while advocating for a more inclusive and equitable world. Our ‘Women in SiriusPoint’ employee resource group kicked off the celebrations with an inspiring fireside chat featuring our Board Director, Susan Cross. Susan shared her experiences from when she began her career, the changes she has witnessed, the challenges she has overcome, insights on effective leadership and mentoring, and more. Thank you to Susan and our Chief Human Resources Officer, Karen Caddick, for an open and insightful discussion. There were also lots of events throughout our global offices in the week including an IWD breakfast, where colleagues reflected and shared stories about the women who inspire them every day, while making their own pledges to #accelerateaction. The week concluded with our Bermuda colleagues attending the Women In Reinsurance (WiRe) Bermuda Women’s Day Gala, featuring keynote speaker Sylvia Baffour and honoring the 2025 Woman of the Year, Sylvia Oliveira. This important event recognizes and celebrates the role of women in Bermuda’s reinsurance industry. Internally, we launched an International Women's Day campaign on SiriusPoint Stars, our global recognition platform. We encouraged colleagues to send heartfelt acknowledgments to women who have impacted their careers and personal growth. Fitch Ratings has affirmed the ratings of SiriusPoint and revised the Company’s Outlook to Positive from Stable. Fitch said: “The Positive Outlook reflects significant underwriting performance improvement in 2024 and 2023 as a result of repositioning the (re)insurance portfolio and exiting non-core lines in order to improve profitability and reduce overall volatility...” CEO Scott Egan said: “Fitch Ratings' decision to improve SiriusPoint’s outlook to Positive follows nine consecutive quarters of strong operating performance. The outlook revision validates the measurable progress we have made in repositioning our business, building out a successful underwriting platform, and growing a track record of performance, while also strengthening and simplifying our capital structure. This decision is a reflection of the contribution and hard work of our global team.
