Last week we, at STS HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden, had the privilege of hosting one of our high school exchange alumni as a one-week intern. Rozemaryne from the Netherlands did a 10-month exchange in Sollefteå, Sweden 2023/24. Now she came back to learn about marketing and finetune her Swedish and English skills. Over the years, more than 1 200 000 students have experienced the world through us. Our vision is to empower young people to reach their full potential through international education and cultural exchange while contributing to global understanding. So when we get the opportunity to read all the amazing student stories that come in to us after our students have returned home, we become so proud. Today, as 2024 comes to an end, we reflect on the incredible journeys we’ve witnessed this year. Our brave high school exchange students from all over the world stepped out of their comfort zones and embraced new cultures, gaining new perspectives, skills, independence, and friendships across borders. For every student and family, we aim to deliver the best possible experience. This means happy students experiencing a life-changing journey and happy parents feeling confident and reassured. One parent shared: “They supported us throughout the process – professional, kind, competent, and above all, reassuring.” This is exactly what we strive to deliver; a safe and personal experience all the way. We also asked parents, “How happy was your child with their experience?” The answer: 4.54/5. This is great, but we’re not stopping here – we aim for a perfect 5 in 2025! 😀 Those amazing journeys wouldn’t be possible without parents who value a global mindset and families opening their homes to host students. Here’s to them, to our brave students, and to another year of personal growth, connection, and discovery! Thank you for being part of this journey with us. 💛✨ A high school exchange is so much more than just a trip – they’re life-changing milestones for many individuals engaged! These incredible families invite students to be part of their everyday lives, creating an experience that goes far beyond cultural immersion – it’s about connection and belonging. German Luisa has been an STS Local Coordinator (LC) since 2016. Since then, she has supported 18 (!) students, from all over the world, and their host families. We recently met up with her and this is what she told us about her job. "It’s interesting and I’m happy to help these young people while they are staying in Germany. I love to see how they get better and better at speaking German during their exchange, but above all, I love to see the exchange between the different cultures. I can really recommend this part-time job. It's very exciting!" To be honest, when you go on a high school exchange, it doesn't really matter where you go. You will get the benefits no matter the destination. But, of course, we have students who really want to explore a certain area, continue practicing their favorite sport, or study a particular subject. Or maybe all of those. Or something completely different! Therefore, we now introduce "Special Wish" (it’s almost Christmas🎄, so why not?). Students can wish for almost anything, and we’ll do our very best to make it come true. The only limit? Their imagination.🌟 The Special Wish add-on is available for our programs in: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands, and New Zealand.  We can’t guarantee 100% that every wish will be possible, but we will give it our all! 🌍 🙌 #highschool #exchangeyear #exchangestudent #cultureexchange
