Dr. Doug Barclay, a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, has transformed surgical training by introducing Surgical Science's LapSim simulators to be an integral part of the training and assessment of gynaecologists across New Zealand. He developed the country's first laparoscopic training program supported by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists RANZCOG .The program equips registrars and junior doctors with essential skills. By providing a safe environment to practice and learn, Dr. Barclay ensures that surgical excellence is accessible to all aspiring gynecologists, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical expertise.
