Last week, 15 young physicians gathered at Nagoya University Hospital, Japan, for an engaging Upper GI workshop. They got hands-on experience using the GI Mentor simulator on the ENDO Suite endoscopy simulation platform. Dr. Doug Barclay, a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand, has transformed surgical training by introducing Surgical Science's LapSim simulators to be an integral part of the training and assessment of gynaecologists across New Zealand. He developed the country's first laparoscopic training program supported by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists RANZCOG .The program equips registrars and junior doctors with essential skills. By providing a safe environment to practice and learn, Dr. Barclay ensures that surgical excellence is accessible to all aspiring gynecologists, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical expertise. We continue the tradition of supporting Shenzhen Resident Laparoscopic Skills Training, held in the city of Shenzhen, with 4 of our LapSim laparoscopy simulators, guided by Dr. Jianwei Chen and many more faculty members. This course is mainly aimed at 2nd year surgical residents from six residential training bases, including Shenzhen People's Hospital, Shenzhen Second People's Hospital, Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, Hong Kong University Shenzhen Hospital, Since 2021, a total of 14 sessions of this training course have been held, with a total of 382 trainees! #SurgicalScience #LapSim #Laparoscopicsurgery #HeatlhcareSimulation
