Introducing Mandy: An easy chair that brings together innovation, sustainability, comfort, and timeless design. Mandy is both sleek and spacious, simple yet spectacular. The frame is made of steel tubing, with a thin 3D-knitted upholstery (by Camira) stretched across the back. The fabric is knitted from SEAQUAL® YARN, made entirely from recycled plastic. 10% comes from marine plastic litter collected by the SEAQUAL Initiative, which works with NGOs, fishermen, communities, authorities and industries to help clean our oceans of marine litter. The remaining 90% comes from post-consumer PET. Mandy’s soft backrest is both supportive and flexible when you lean back while the seat offers extra comfort thanks to pocket springs. The goal was not only to create an innovative piece but also a classic, comfortable easy chair. “I wanted to design an easy chair that fully utilizes this material while still evoking the feel of a truly comfortable chair. Mandy should spark curiosity, be visually striking, and—when you finally sit down—surprise you with just how incredibly comfortable it is,” says designer Roger Persson. In Swedese's collaboration with artist Sara N Bergman, old support fabrics that have been in Lamino easy chairs for decades are given a new role—as artworks. To extend the lifespan of our customers’ Lamino easy chairs, Swedese has, in recent years, taken in worn-out chairs and restored them to their original condition at our two factories in Småland. The sheepskin and linen fabric are removed from the old chairs to make way for new upholstery. But it’s not just the Lamino that has been given new life - the old linen fabrics have now also been repurposed. “I was thrilled when Swedese presented this idea of preserving as much of the old material as possible during the refurbishment process,” says Sara N Bergman, who has painted portraits on the old fabrics. “I love this slightly rough surface—you really have to work the paint in with the brush. And I enjoy finding an old stain and placing it right where I’m painting an eye, so it becomes part of the shadow,” says Sara. “We want to show that the future holds new possibilities. Sometimes, we need to rethink what things truly are. In this case, we chose an old support fabric from the chairs. These fabrics have served their function for decades, and now they become artworks that will last just as long,” says Linus Davidsson, Swedese Repair. The artworks will be exhibited in Swedese’s showroom at Malmtorgsgatan 5 in Stockholm. On April 10, the exhibition will be open to the public, offering the opportunity to purchase the artworks. On April 15 at 10:00 AM, a selection of artworks will also be released for sale on swedese.se (Swedish market only) Read more about the collaboration: https://lnkd.in/gXudYNgE

Swedese turns 80 in 2025! To celebrate our anniversary, we are releasing a limited edition of Yngve Ekström’s masterpiece, Lamino, crafted from the most quintessentially Swedish materials imaginable: pinewood from Dalarna and sheepskin from free-range Swedish sheep. "Let’s get started and see how it goes", said Yngve Ekström to his brother Jerker when they founded Swedese back in 1945. Eighty years later, Swedese continues to create sophisticated simplicity in the same factory in Småland that the Ekström brothers moved into during the 1950s - always with sustainability and quality at the forefront. For the first time, pinewood is pressed and bent into the iconic curve that Yngve spent years perfecting. The seat is upholstered with soft sheepskin. The result is a beloved classic with beautiful contrasts, where the dark sheepskin meets light, white-pigmented pinewood. The Anniversary Edition is available at selected retailers and through our online store. Swedish market only. https://lnkd.in/dsJhECAS

Introducing the Distinctively Designed Spin Lounge Table! The award-winning Spin stool is finally joined by a table, featuring the same simple expression and innovative design language as its predecessor. Spin lounge table is made of molded ash and comes in two different sizes and seven different finishes, ranging from dark red to moss green. “If you have a large sofa, you can combine three or four tables and stools or mix it with other tables. That’s what’s so great about Spin - it has a strong form, but it’s still a basic shape that pairs well with other styles”, says designer Staffan Holm. Read more about Spin:

Customize Your Meeting Table As the name suggests, Bespoke is a table that can be customized to your own dimensions, which may be why it has become so popular as a meeting table. The shape of Bespoke is as simple as can be, while the construction and details are quite spectacular. The table stands solidly on steel legs clad in solid wood, and the tabletop is self-supporting. The legs, mounted directly into the tabletop, add a beautiful detail, and if you want to extend the table, a sleek connecting leg is used. Sophisticated simplicity is the core idea behind Bespoke. For that reason, designer Roger Persson and the product development team defied the impossible, continuously testing and refining without compromising on what was important. Introducing a new addition to the Luna family: Luna sideboard! The design duo Broberg & Ridderstråle was, somewhat unexpectedly, inspired by a grand piano when creating this neat piece of furniture. ─ A grand piano is certainly a large and bold piece, but it has beautiful flowing shapes, Johan Ridderståle explains.
