Yesterday, we gathered our portfolio companies at Grand Hôtel Stockholm for our CEO & Chairpersons Conference - a morning dedicated to innovation, leadership, and collaboration. Our keynote speaker, Katarina Berg, Board Member of Investor AB and departing CHRO at Spotify, shared insights on the often-overlooked side of innovation: Culture & Organizational Growing Pains - highlighting the importance of culture in scaling companies. This was followed by a panel discussion with Koshi Hamedi, Senior Director at Microsoft, and Charlotte Söderhjelm, Deputy CEO at Tendium, on building strong cultures in science-driven startups, and an engaging fireside chat with Marcus Wallenberg, Chair of Wallenberg Investments AB and board member of Navigare Ventures, and Salla Franzén, Investment Manager at Navigare Ventures, on the Wallenberg Ecosystem and what lies ahead. Idag är det kick-off för projektet ”Halvledare - en svensk värdekedja”. Tillsammans med Linköpings universitet, SweGaN AB, TekSiC, STMicroelectronics, Polar Light Technologies och Chalmers tekniska högskola ska Innovative Materials Arena, IMA och Norrköping Science Park samt Linköping Science Park utveckla den svenska värdekedjan för kiselkarbid och galliumnitrid. Vi kan även glädja oss åt att @Saab Surveillance i Göteborg vill vara med på resan. Halvledarfrågan har blivit ännu hetare de senaste veckorna och vi behöver minska beroendet av utländska leverantörer och positionera Sverige som en global ledare inom halvledarområdet. In an era increasingly defined by resource scarcity and environmental challenges, innovative approaches to material reuse and recycling are paramount. The I3 CLOSER project, 70% funded by the European Union (EU), represents a bold stride toward this goal. This initiative seeks to reclaim and repurpose critical materials from e-waste, establishing a circular supply chain for Europe’s semiconductor industry. This article features SweGaN AB, a Swedish semiconductor technology company, sharing insights about the project and its role within it. “As part of the CLOSER project, SweGaN is focusing on reclaiming critical materials like gallium and silicon carbide (SiC) wafers to reduce dependence on scarce resources and promote sustainable practices,” said Anders Lundskog, R&D Manager, SweGaN, in an interview with Power Electronics News. #semiconductor
