"Responsible for 7% of global energy sector CO2 emissions, the steel sector is a substantial contributor to climate change, however it can also be a crucial player in the global transformation to net-zero." The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) explores how through its science-based decarbonization framework for iron and steelmakers to develop and set emissions reduction targets. https://lnkd.in/eykHtJn9

Observing the UNESCO World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, we highlight how critical engineering is for sustainable development. In particular, we focus on how engineering steers relief in natural disasters, constructs resilient infrastructure, and drives prevention and circularity to do more with less in an increasingly resource-strapped world. https://lnkd.in/eqzA7kG

A truly circular approach to water management includes rainwater harvesting using water tanks -- a viable and sustainable solution for using and reusing rainwater. Watch the video to see how a Swedish municipality harvested rainwater to wash their fleet of buses -- saving water resources and preventing flooding at the same time.

According to the World Economic Forum, "...the world is expected to build the equivalent of New York City every month for the next 40 years, the construction sector needs to conserve resources and build better with less. This means building nature-positive cities – and a regenerative future." Infrastructure will play a key role in shaping a smart and sustainable future. Find out more. https://lnkd.in/ezuxuBuY
