Did you know that Norway hosted the first electromobility conference back in 1970? Since then, the country has remained at the forefront of sustainable innovation. Its capital, Oslo, has ambitious goals to reduce emissions by 95% by 2030 and to phase out all diesel and petrol vehicles from the city center, including public transport and construction equipment. Norway was also the destination for the first machines from our commercial electric line-up. In 2021, the Volvo ECR25 Electric compact excavator and the Volvo L25 Electric compact wheel loader were delivered and put to work in Oslo City and for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

“We want to be a flexible and efficient organization that embraces new technologies. By introducing job rotation, we encourage even greater collaboration and help our people learn and develop skills in new areas.” Rachel Yang, CFO at Volvo CE Korea, explains why she introduced job rotation and how it provides valuable opportunities for the Finance team to learn and grow. At Volvo CE, our strength and success begin with our people – how they work, challenge, and support one another to develop and grow. We believe everyone’s contribution can make a difference, so we want to empower our people and our teams and help them to fulfill their full potential.

We are excited to announce the launch of our global Iron Women program, a vocational initiative empowering women with specialized training to operate construction machinery. This program builds on a successful concept originally introduced by Volvo Trucks in 2016, which has so far enabled over 700 women across 10 countries to enter the truck driving profession. Now, in partnership with Skill Shift Initiative and ETS Group - Volvo CЕ in Ukraine we are taking the Iron Women program into the construction equipment industry. By reskilling and upskilling #WomenInConstruction, we aim to meet the growing demand for skilled operators while breaking down gender stereotypes and making construction more inclusive. “When you have passion for what you do, that is contagious. It builds trust and makes it easier to adapt to changes, to keep learning, and to keep trying. With this attitude, challenging times always lead to improvement.” Ramrama Nano, Business Controller at Volvo Construction Equipment in Eskilstuna, took the time to understand the engineering innovation behind the financials she knows so well, resulting in a much deeper dedication to her role. Just because you have a skill set in one area does not mean you do not benefit from understanding the wider business. We encourage everyone to get a deeper understanding of the different functions – whether it’s R&D and engineering, People & Culture, or Finance and Communication. Expanding your knowledge always leads to greater things. #VolvoCE #workplace #dreamjob #jobopportunity #careerdevelopment

Last week, Tora Leifland, our Head of Public Affairs, called for collaborative action when speaking at the Financial Times Mining Summit in London. “Electrification is key to reaching our CO₂ reduction targets, but it's just one piece of the puzzle. To truly meet our sustainability goals, collaboration across the entire value chain is crucial to secure responsible sourcing and achieve decarbonization." As a company that both uses raw materials and supplies machinery and solutions to the industry, we are committed to using our unique position to drive change from both ends. Thank you to the Financial Times for the opportunity to connect with other leaders Iván Arriagada Herrera, Kenta Saito, Nicholas Snowdon and moderator Harry Dempsey to discuss these critical issues. "The time for siloed thinking is over. We invite everyone – partners, suppliers, and industry peers – to join us in accelerating this transformation. Together, we can achieve far more than we ever could do alone." #FTMining #Emobility #Transformation #Changestartshere

Family Day at Volvo CE in Braås! Our colleagues in Braås came together to show their loved ones a glimpse of life at Volvo CE, the team spirit and the incredible machines that make us so passionate about what we do. Michaela Rosberg Karlström, site communicator and one of the event organizers shared: “I believe and hope that some of the people we welcomed are future test engineers, welders, software developers, communicators, or rallycross pros. More than anything, I hope they left knowing that whatever your passion is, there are jobs that are exciting, where you get to create the coolest things, and where every team member is equally valued.” It’s days like these that remind us of why we love what we do — and that's the spirit that makes these events unforgettable! #VolvoCE #TeamSpirit #Engineering #FamilyDay #Innovation

Celebrating 40 years of passion and innovation in Belley! We’re excited to celebrate 40 years of innovation, teamwork, and growth at our Belley site. Last week we marked the occasion with a machine show, a buffet, and a memorable moment when Volvo CE President Melker Jernberg lit the candles on a giant birthday cake—using a compact electric excavator, of course! Originally founded under the Pel-Job brand, our Belley site became part of Volvo CE in 1995. Today, 400 talented colleagues contribute across manufacturing, sales & marketing, purchasing, and R&D. Here’s to the next chapter and the continued success of our dedicated team at Belley.
