Meet Swedish Municipality Nacka at the European Microsoft Fabric Community Conference in Stockholm! As we have previously covered in this space, we are super excited about the European Microsoft Fabric Community Conference in Stockholm. It´s just around the corner. From September 24 – 27, twoday will be hosting a large event space and showcase interesting client cases. Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting Microsoft Denmark alongside +100 Danish business leaders. The event was facilitated by DI - Dansk Industri and the topic of the day was AI. It’s the third time in less than two months that I participate in AI events. In construction, it’s not just the outcome that matters - but also the journey! Construction projects, like other projects, are too often evaluated solely by their outcomes. However, the process also matters, including what happens during planning, procurement, or construction, stakeholder involvement, and complaint processes, from causing bystanders to queue up to the noise, dust, or emissions generated by construction sites. In her master thesis, Emilia Sillanpää studied the value produced by construction projects, especially from the perspective of responsibility. In addition to the final products, projects can also generate value from the activities during the project and, in particular, from the soft values that arise from collaborative projects (Integrated Project Delivery). Therefore, it matters how construction projects are carried out in this country with about 40 billion euros every year. During spring, we introduced some of our section managers in Örebro, Västerås, Karlstad and Borlänge within our Business Unit, Connected Products North. Now, as we return from summer vacations, it’s time to get to know our Business Unit Manager, Fredrik Kihlborg.   Fredrik earned a PhD in Organic Electronics from Linköping University. With 20 years of experience in R&D, both in Sweden and internationally, he has worked with development of non-volatile memories, OLED displays as well as smart camera filters. After a stint at Hitachi Energy, Fredrik joined AFRY three years ago as Section Manager for Borlänge Product Development. In early 2024, he became Business Unit Manager.   💼Fredrik, can you tell me about the business unit you manage? We have around 75 consultants in COP North. Our team specializes in embedded software engineering, mechanical design, project management, and production development. We have a diverse mix of expertise across various industrial sectors and support a range of companies, from small enterprises to large corporations, primarily in energy, defense, and manufacturing.   🔮What’s next for the business unit? We plan to grow alongside the market. With growth in the defense and energy sectors, and the upcoming Agency Work Act, we anticipate new business opportunities. We'll also focus on employee development to remain a top employer.   📸Best memory with your team? I've enjoyed many great moments, from casual coffee breaks to team-building activities like knife forging and Dala horse painting.   📚Favorite activity outside of work? My two sons keep me busy. 🎧 Bringing AI Music to Life with Shanti and Beyond 🎧 Over the past month, Fredrik and I have been pushing the boundaries of AI music creation. This weekend, we took it to the next level by using Notebook LM, alongside ChatGPT, MidJourney, and Udio, to bring the singers we’ve created to life. One standout example is Shanti, an ethereal artist whose haunting voice and spiritual journey are now a key part of our new podcast series, which I’ll be sharing below. But Shanti is just the beginning. Each artist we’ve created has an album of 16-18 tracks, all top quality, each carrying a meaningful message. These albums aren't just AI-generated; they are crafted to evoke real emotion and provoke thought, touching on deep themes and storytelling. AI has served as an amplifier for creativity, a tool to dig deeper and create something completely new and authentic. Let's talk about Salary for Developers 💰 The average annual salary for a Developer in Norway is approximately 700,000 NoK to 900,000 NoK, depending on experience and location. The average is higher in Oslo. Junior Developers: Typically earn around 500,000 Nok to 650,000 NoK annually. Mid-Level Developers: With 3-5 years of experience, the salary usually falls between 650,000 NoK to 800,000 Nok. Senior Developers: With more than 5 years of experience can expect salaries ranging from 800,000 NoK to 1,100,000 NoK or more Development Manager: 900,000 Nok 1,400,000 Nok. I have recently noticed that the value of Developers has increased if they have expertise in cutting-edge technologies like cloud computing, AI, or machine learning, this may be due to the recent hype of companies exploring automation. I have also noticed that Developers in large enterprises or multinational companies tend to earn 15%-25% more than those in smaller or medium-sized firms. Senior developers in these companies can command salaries of 1,000,000 NoK or more I would say 90% of the people that I speak to are in these averages for their experience, however, the 10% of people that I have spoken with are still not matching the average that is available on the market. June is a tricky month for many fashion brands, since it's a transitioning month between full-priced SS24 collection and the Summer Sales. Within 10 years Swedish companies need 175 000 employees Regions and communes need 75 000 State employees 15 000 If part-time employees increase their work hours from 28 to 31 hours/week and the retirement age is raised by one year to 66 it will save employers from finding 100 000 workers. That leaves 185 000 vacancies. Where will they be found? Who will have educated them? Can they move to Sweden? Will Sweden provide an awesome place to live? All relevant questions that need answers soon! What does it mean to Nimmersion? Lots of work, great opportunities & challenges. What does it mean to Sweden? It's a make-it-or-break situation to offset our demographics. It's in the politicians' court to give us the best environment to help. It's up to us to find solutions! Exciting times.
