What does being a team player mean to her? 💬 “To me, being a team player means prioritising the needs of the team over individual needs, especially by supporting each other in difficult times. I firmly believe that the value of a team is greater than the sum of its members and that the cohesion is the true secret ingredient behind a winning team. The more people believe in this concept, the more value the team creates for the organisation it works for. I try to foster this mindset in my work and my interactions with the other colleagues. A concrete example of the positive impact of this approach has been in the Transaction area in Italy. Although still involved in various challenging projects, my colleagues working in the transaction area and I have dedicated time to train other colleagues, explain the methodologies to apply in transactions projects and sales activities. The time invested in helping the colleagues that usually work in other areas grow professionally in the transaction one was tangibly translated into the results we, as a Team, were able to achieve. The key success factor in this process has been the ability to involve people with excellent but very diverse skills, bringing out each individual's strengths and enabling them to independently achieve the desired goals out of their comfort zone. The success achieved is also a credit to the support initially provided by my senior colleague, Carlo Ghiglieno, leading the transactions activities in Italy, who decided to share his experiences and invest time in my development in the first place.” 🚀 In the coming years, Carla sees herself furthering her contributions to the growth of the Transactions area in both her local office and on a corporate scale at AFRY. 💡 The IRS’ Hourly Time-Matching Provision – A Prescient Boon or A Stymieing Bane? I joined AFRY in 2016, seeking growth and a more stimulating career path. Since my first day, I was super motivated. As I climbed the company ladder, moving from a pure analytical role to a managerial one, my responsibilities evolved. Being part of a smaller office in Madrid opened so many doors, from client-facing responsibilities to bits of project management.
