Gamers in the Asia Pacific region anticipating the regional launch of Diablo Immortal will finally see an end to their antagonizing wait when the game finally launches across the region on July 8, 2022.
On said date, the game's open beta will be rolled out on 9 a.m. GMT+8 for users on iOS, Android, and PC in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macao, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. Players in Vietnam, however, will need to contend with only having the game available on PC for now.
In the first dedicated mobile adaptation of the famed action RPG series from Blizzard, players will need to fight against Skarn, the Lord of Damnation, and his endless waves of minions after he learns of near arrival to the world of Sanctuary.
In the game, you'll be able to pick from a variety of powered classes including Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, or Wizard to traverse dangerous dungeons and hellscapes in an effort to fend off Skarn's evil ambitions for the realm.
Right now, gamers can already pre-load the game on PC by downloading it from the Battle.net service. All you have to do first is download the Battle.net desktop here, and then logging in with an account before choosing to download the Diablo Immortal app to your system. When the game launches on July 8, you'll be able to play it immediately.
Smartphone gamers on iOS and Android can simply download the app once it launches on your respective app stores on the day of the launch itself.
Do note that while smartphone gamers will be automatically given a guest account when entering the game for the first time, a Battle.net account will be required for those who wish to synchronize their game progress across multiple devices (mobile and PC).
During the open beta phase, Diablo Immortal players will have all of their progress and purchases maintained, although characters created on one server will not be transferable to a different server, meaning that you'll need to pick your server and region carefully before starting your journey (make sure to join the same server as your buddies if you want to play together constantly).
Keep in mind that Diablo Immortal – despite being free-to-play – is a game that features plenty of options for paid upgrades to make your characters stronger in game, and will tempt you with purchasable power-ups and items as gameplay becomes more difficult.
But should you feel averse to spending any money, you can still enjoy the game without ever opening your wallet, although you may find making progress much more difficult as the story wears on.
