Over two months in, Google+ has continued to make many changes to the fledgling social site. Here is what’s happened over the weekend and what you will see in Google+ this week!
New Suggested Users List
Suggested Users were launched this weekend in a very “Twitter-esque” format. The list starts with a generic “picks” list and has additional users in the following categories:
- Entertainment
- Fun & Interesting
- Music
- News
- Photography & Art
- Politics
- Sports
- Technology
One of the worst features of this list is that you cannot click on a user to see if you would actually want to follow them.
The Full Suggested User List from Craig Kanalley is a comprehensive list of who made the initial Google+ Suggested user list. Surprisingly, the list was “hipper” than I would have expected, with a few edgy accounts that contain some potentially NSFW material.
Google+ API ‘Months” Away
Google+ API Launch Still Months Away, by Sarah Perez from TechCrunch, hints that the API is “months” away. Typically new social sites (like Twitter) flourish with 3rd party developments, but the Google+ API will disappoint the flocks of developers who that thought that the API release was around the corner.
