The Future of Maritime Energy: Collaboration is Key There is no one-size-fits-all solution to decarbonisation but what is needed is a pragmatic, collective approach. This was one of the points shared by Robert Sullivan (Rob), AET's Global Director of Business Development & Technology at the S&P Global Asia Gas Markets Conference held in Singapore on 22 October 2024. He was speaking at a panel discussion on #LNG and the Future of Maritime Transportation. Emphasising that both LNG and ammonia have important roles, Rob said advancing maritime's energy transition requires collaboration: “It’s a partnership model and responsibility needs to be carried by everyone in the value chain." To accelerate progress in this area, AET has teamed up with innovators such as Daphne Technology and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)’s Maritime Energy Transition Facility (METF) (https://lnkd.in/gQvAXAFy) to address challenges such as methane slip and to develop specialised training courses, focusing on future fuels and technologies. Here are some other key takeaways from the session: ➡ LNG isn't just a bridge fuel. It's here to stay. It remains a vital option for reducing emissions in the near term. ➡ Regulatory momentum: Policy changes are key to fostering the right incentives and advancing cleaner fuel adoption. ➡ The power of Collaboration: The maritime industry, like aviation, needs a breakthrough in sustainable fuels and achieving this will require cooperative efforts, including innovations like carbon capture and storage. We will continue to share our expertise and experience as we work with our industry partners for a sustainable and impactful future in shipping. We’d like to also thank the other panellists and moderator Pradeep Rajan of S&P Global Commodity Insights for an engaging discussion on these topics. #AET #deliveringProgress #oneAET #Sustainability #SIEW

Celebrating Safety and Excellence: HSSE Recognition Day 2024 Safety is of utmost importance to all of us at AET. Caring for one another and complying with HSSE rules are key aspects of how to foster a safe environment for all. These were some of the points covered by our President and CEO, Zahid Osman, at the recent HSSE Recognition Day organised by the MISC Group.   Zahid, who is also MISC President and Group CEO, noted the importance of upholding shipping safety, maritime security and protecting the marine environment. He emphasised how compliance with our HSSE rules protects all our colleagues both off and onshore.   The hybrid event, livestreamed from the MISC Kuala Lumpur office, brought together participants from various AET offices globally. It featured an engaging interview with David Baker, AET’s Head of Offshore and Global Lightering, and a presentation by Halisham Ismail, AET’s HSSE Manager. They shared valuable insights and highlighted the achievements of the AET Offshore team in our STS operations.   Colleagues across AET and the MISC Group were celebrated for their contributions towards strengthening our Generative HSSE culture at the event.   The annual HSSE Recognition Day is a culmination and celebration of our safety initiatives, and is also a timely reminder and challenge to all of us – that we must continually evaluate and improve our safety practices. This is so that all our employees are safe and can do their best work each day.   #HSSERecognitionDay #deliveringProgress #HSSE #SafetyFirst

AET Assembles 200 Solar Lights for Communities in Need Despite rising electricity access, more than 1.18 billion people still live in energy poverty, according to a 2024 United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) report (Source: https://lnkd.in/ga32X_-c). With a little teamwork, we are doing our part to brighten lives and create opportunities. Recently, colleagues from our offices in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Houston, Galveston, London, and Rio assembled 200 solar lights as part of SolarBuddy Live’s Hour of Power. These lights will be delivered to children in communities without reliable electricity, bringing them clean, sustainable lighting, reducing their reliance on harmful energy sources, and extending their activity hours after dark. As we celebrate 30 years of moving energy around the world and delivering progress, we remain steadfast in our commitment to powering change in the communities where we live and work in.
