  • Drawing together the elements required for a utility-scale solar project is complex – from finding the right land in the right location and obtaining the necessary permits, to engineering and procurement, financing, power sales and the construction of generation assets, through to the operation, maintenance, monitoring and optimisation of the plant itself. The best approach is one that includes detailed feasibility studies, is agile enough to overcome unforeseen obstacles, provides the option to co-locate and integrate solar power storage technologies, and considers how the value of the assets can be optimised, long before they are built. An additional critical consideration is ensuring that robust environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles are integrated at every stage of the project. This involves not only minimising environmental impact and promoting sustainable land use but also engaging with local communities to guarantee that their needs and concerns are being addressed. AMPYR Solar Europe has just published a free guide to delivering utility-scale solar power projects, offering best-practice advice on overcoming obstacles to make sure projects deliver maximum benefit to investors, landowners, energy users and the planet. • AMPYR Solar Europe, in partnership with the Echt-Susteren Energy Cooperative, has completed its latest solar project in the Netherlands. The 13.2MWp Groensebos solar park in the village of Maria Hoop, part of the municipality of Echt-Susteren, will meet the energy needs of 3,960 homes in the region, while also saving almost 5,300 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The Groensebos solar park not only will provide clean power to the local community, but also test the feasibility of an important agri-PV project, growing blueberries – which will be contributed to a local community care farm – under the solar panels. Following the completion of the Hoeve de Ruif solar park last year, this is AMPYR Solar Europe's second project in the Echt-Susteren municipality. Well done, team! 🌞🌞🌞 #renewableenergy #solarenergy #netzero

  • The International Energy Agency has just published its annual renewables report, providing forecasts for the deployment of renewable energy technologies in electricity, transport and heat to 2030, while also exploring key challenges facing the industry and identifying barriers that are preventing faster growth. Check out the report via the link, but here are some highlights: • Global renewable capacity is expected to grow by 2.7 times by 2030, surpassing countries’ current ambitions by nearly 25% • Solar will account for 80% of global renewables growth by the end of this decade, thanks to declining costs, shorter permitting timelines and increased social acceptance • The E.U. and U.S. are both forecast to double renewable capacity growth between 2024 and 2030, while India is fastest-growing among large economies • Renewables are expected to account for almost half of global electricity generation by 2030, with the share of wind and solar PV doubling to 30% • Renewable electricity use in the transport, industry and buildings sectors accounts for more than three-quarters of the overall rise in forecasted global renewable energy demand

  • Congratulations to the U.K. for being the first G7 nation to stop burning coal! This is a terrific deep dive into the country's history of coal-burning, and gradual shift to other fuels. An important part of the process has been government will, driven by public sentiment. Also, obviously, the development of economically viable alternatives, most notably renewable energy. Renewable energy generation doubled in the five years following the implementation of the 2013 Energy Act, from around 50TWh in 2013 to 110TWh in 2018. Renewables are on track to generate more than 150TWh in 2024. We're very proud that AMPYR Distributed Energy and AMPYR Solar Europe are contributing to change, and we're excited about the prospects for the continued rapid adoption of renewables across the country. #renewableenergy #solarenergy #netzero

  • Here's an excellent overview of the fast-growing data centre business. One of the most important factors in data centre design and construction is energy consumption. Data centres require energy, ideally sourced predominantly from renewable sources. AGP Data Centres (AGPDC) is a sustainability-focused, innovation-led data centre investor and developer specialising in hyperscale BTS (build-to-suit)/full-stack projects in the Asia-Pacific region. AGPDC provides the complete range of data centre development services, including site selection, land acquisition, planning and early-stage execution of infrastructure and utilities, as well as comprehensive construction management and delivery. AGPDC's deep experience in real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy and data centre development – and its fundamental commitment to sustainability – informs its project designs, which are tailored to clients’ specific requirements, and support their operational, financial, and sustainability goals. #datacenters #renewableenergy #asiapacific
