ArkStream Capital is thrilled to announce our investment in Merlin Chain and extend our congratulations to Merlin Chain for being one of the earliest to launch on the Bitcoin Layer 2 mainnet. Merlin Chain represents our strong belief in the long-term development of the Bitcoin ecosystem, and our highest regard for startup founders' capacity for self-improvement and iteration. 1/ Bitcoin Layer 2 is an untapped 50b market With the advent of new developments like the Ordinals protocol, BRC20 token standard, Bitmap protocol, BRC420 metaverse standard, and technological advancements in BitVM and zero-knowledge proofs, the Bitcoin ecosystem is witnessing a rebirth and resurgence. Currently, Bitcoin's market cap is about $850 billion, roughly 50% of the entire crypto industry. Compared to Ethereum's boom, the Bitcoin ecosystem remains largely untapped - a treasure trove waiting to be discovered. If Bitcoin can unlock about 10% of its liquidity, the spillover funds could significantly boost the entire Bitcoin ecosystem and its Layer 2 networks. We believe the Layer 2 space in Bitcoin could reach a scale of at least $50 billion in the future. 2/ Bitcoin Native Spirit The Bitcoin network epitomizes freedom, devoid of a central figure leading the narrative, unlike other smart contract blockchains. Gaining widespread consensus in the Bitcoin community requires elegant and viable solutions, backed by strong and enduring momentum. Projects like Bitmap and the Ordinals protocol exemplify this, closely linked to each Bitcoin block, both historical and new, mapping transactions to Bitcoin's companion assets. Further, based on Ordinals and Bitmap, BRC420 extends the BRC20 token standard, adding unique designs for the metaverse while maintaining BRC20's permissionless issuance. 3/Layer 2 with Intrinsic Assets With the operational experience from projects like Bitmap and BRC420, and the fair market value recognized by secondary markets, Merlin Chain holds a natural advantage in asset integration. In terms of revitalizing primary native assets, Merlin Chain offers a more flexible approach compared to other protocols and networks. 4/ Phenomenal founder The success of a project often hinges on the founders' capabilities. It's hard to find web3 entrepreneurs like Jeff, the founder of Bitmap, BRC420, and Merlin Chain. His unique vision, broad perspective, tireless community engagement, and dedication to guiding and educating users, helping them participate correctly in community projects, set him apart. Before entering the crypto, Jeff had several impressive entrepreneurial experiences and was well-regarded in web2. During the mainstreaming process of crypto, the rapid iteration and from-top-to-bottom design capabilities that emerged after the internet industry's intense competition were also key reasons why we ultimately chose to invest in Bitmap.

ArkStream is pleased to announce that its second fund completed a strategic investment in Manta in Q4 of 2023, and congratulates New Paradigm on breaking through 900M in TVL and launching on Binance Launchpool. This investment in Manta marks a repeat investment following our first fund's investment in Manta in August 2021. Over the past two-plus years, we have also witnessed the robust growth of a leading blockchain network. 1. Modular Blockchain Evolution Manta Network's journey from its initial zk-focused parachain, Manta Atlantic, to the EVM-native Manta Pacific showcases the evolution of blockchain infrastructure. Manta's Universal Circuits have enabled zkEVM solutions and modular Data Availability (DA) via Celestia, marking a significant shift in blockchain narratives. ArkStream's research highlights the execution layer's importance, citing Manta's success in reducing gas fees and its impact on the modular blockchain space. As modular blockchain adoption grows, expectations are high for a more efficient and secure ecosystem. 2. Continuous evolution Manta Network has consistently evolved, adapting to industry trends and challenges. The launch of Blast_L2, with its token airdrop model and community revenue sharing, pressured other L2 solutions. Manta responded with the successful New Paradigm, quickly rivaling Blast in Total Value Locked (TVL) and surpassing other Rollups. Despite Blast's initial surge, Manta's technological and ecosystem strengths have kept it at the forefront of zkRollups, significantly growing its TVL. 3. Ethereum's Dominant Ecosystem Despite Solana's recent market capitalization surge, Ethereum maintains a significant lead in ecosystem inclusiveness. Ethereum's ecosystem, extending beyond a public chain, incorporates a decentralized architecture including finance, identity, and gaming. Its modular structure and Web3 applications showcase potential challenges to traditional internet and financial models. Ethereum's substantial capital flow not only fuels market growth but also strengthens its consensus, keeping it ahead of competitors like Solana. 4. Manta's zkApp Accelerator Initiative Manta has partnered with CelestiaOrg and 0xPolygon to launch the zkApp Accelerator. This initiative focuses on advancing scalable and practical decentralized applications (dApps) on the Manta Pacific platform. The accelerator merges Manta's expertise in zero-knowledge proofs (zk-proofs) and Universal Circuits with Celestia's innovative data availability layer. Its primary goal is to encourage the development of ZK-powered apps, on-chain games, and SocialFi applications, aiming to enhance scalability and efficiency for wider Web3 adoption.
