We're delighted to announce a new Memorandum of Understanding with the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) - one of Asia’s most respected energy organisations. The MOU, which was signed today at the 3rd South East Asia CCS Accelerator workshop in Kuala Lumpur, aims to enhance acceleration of energy transition development and strengthen energy security in Southeast Asia. In particular, it will focus on development of natural gas, methane emissions management, power market and Carbon Capture Utilisation and/ or Storage (CCU/S) initiatives. ANGEA CEO Paul Everingham said: "There is strong synergy between the work ACE undertakes to facilitate integrated and sustainable energy solutions in ASEAN and the reasons why ANGEA was created in 2021. “Both organisations have a strong commitment to supporting countries in their efforts to balance economic growth with progress on climate ambitions." ANGEA CEO Paul Everingham was honoured to deliver the opening remarks at today's 3rd South East Asia CCS Accelerator (SEACA) workshop in Kuala Lumpur. An excellent initiative organised by two of ANGEA's partner organisations in the ASEAN Centre for Energy and the Global CCS Institute, and supported by Malaysia's Ministry of Economy (Kementerian Ekonomi). The development of cross-border CCS value chains across Asia will be essential to decarbonisation of our region and events like SEACA are very important to progressing discussions and collaborations that will help make this happen. ANGEA member company ExxonMobil has released its Global Outlook to 2050, with some telling insights into the energy future: ▪ While renewables are the energy source that grow the fastest to 2050, oil and natural gas remain essential under any credible scenario. ▪ However, without continued investment in oil and natural gas projects, there is a strong risk that supply will fall well short of demand. ▪ Asia Pacific will drive global growth in LNG demand ▪ Development of lower-emission technologies - including carbon capture and storage, hydrogen and biofuels - will be essential to reducing global emissions over the next 25 years. #lng #naturalgas #energysecurity #energytransition #decarbonisation

ANGEA member company JERA Co., Inc. and LOTTE FINE CHEMICAL have signed an agreement to realise low carbon fuel value chains, including optimisation of each party’s ammonia portfolio by enhancing operational flexibility through joint studies. The agreement reflects government collaboration on the “Japan-ROK Hydrogen and Its Derivatives such as Ammonia Cooperation Dialogue.” It's very positive to see major companies from Japan and Korea working together to unlock the potential of hydrogen and ammonia and support progress towards a lower-carbon energy future. Our member company ConocoPhillips' Australia Pacific LNG project recently celebrated the shipping of its 1000th cargo. It's a good example of how large-scale gas development in Australia can have both domestic and regional energy benefits. Since inception, APLNG has shipped 3700 petajoules of energy to international customers and supplied 2100 PJs to the Australian market, making it the largest gas producer, domestic gas supplier and LNG exporter on the east coast of Australia. ANGEA and its member companies were very pleased to support and attend the Petroleum Institute Of Thailand's Annual Dinner in Bangkok last night. It was a great opportunity to hear from Australia's longest serving Foreign Minister, Alexander Downer, on the topic of "Polarisation and Regional Conflict” - at a time when energy security and economic security are of paramount concern and importance for nations across Asia.
