  • ASEF’s Education Department (ASEFEdu) is currently in Budapest, Hungary, for the Asia-Europe Training Seminar on Youth, Digitalisation, and Intercultural Dialogue. This marks the second in-person training session as part of the ASEFYLS Capacity Building Program 2024. The training has officially commenced, welcoming participants from 35 countries across Asia and Europe to Budapest to learn more about the topic of ‘Leadership in Society 5.0’. 💡 We are grateful to collaborate with the Council of Europe Youth Department on this training, revitalising a partnership that spans over 15 years. Special thanks to Mr. Bálint MOLNÁR, Director of the European Youth Centre Budapest (EYCB), for providing participants with insights into the history of the Council of Europe (CoE) and for his warm welcome to the EYCB. In his opening remarks, Mr. Molnár emphasised the Council of Europe’s commitment to human rights, democracy, and the rule of law, highlighting the essential role of youth in these processes and how this training can promote these values beyond Europe. Additionally, we thank Ms. Ida KREUTZMAN, Educational Advisor at the Youth Department of the Council of Europe, for her opening remarks where she contextualised the training within the broader work of the Council of Europe Youth Department. She presented conventions such as the Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime and initiatives that have been taken as a result of them to engage youth on these topics. 📃 We extend our gratitude to the European Union, the People’s Republic of China, and Denmark for their ongoing financial support of ASEF, the Education Department, and our youth projects. Their contributions enable us to continue providing opportunities for youth to learn from one another through our projects. We look forward to seeing what participants will contribute to and gain from this week filled with workshops, dialogue sessions, and intercultural learning experiences.🌏 Want to learn more about the training? • The Asia-Europe Cultural Festival 2024 has successfully come to a close, thanks to the support of several international #partners. The event not only showcased a rich tapestry of cultural performances, exhibitions, and discussions but also served as a powerful exercise in #CulturalDiplomacy. A special thank you to the #government representatives from #Australia, to #Hungary, #India, #Italy, #Kazahkstan, #Myanmar, #Poland, #Romania, #Singapore, #Switzerland and #EU who attended the events both in Italy and Singapore. Their involvement highlighted the strategic importance of cultural initiatives such as the festival in contributing to #SoftPower, #GlobalCooperation and #InternationalRelations. The #AECFest2024 provided a unique platform for fostering mutual understanding, strengthening cross-cultural ties, and promoting #collaboration among participating nations and institutions. In a world that often feels divided, the festival stands as a reminder of the common threads that bind us together. It is through these initiatives that we can foster a deeper appreciation of our differences while recognising the many ways in which we are alike. #ASEFCulture is grateful to all our funders and partners: - European Union Delegation to Singapore and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Udenrigsministeriet and the Embassy of Italy in Singapore Ambasciata d'Italia a Singapore e Brunei Darussalam for their support. - ORIENTE OCCIDENTE in Italy, Temenggong Artists-In-Residence, Dance Nucleus and Asian Film Archive in Singapore for their invaluable collaboration. - MUSE - Museo delle Scienze, Mart - Museo di arte moderna e contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto and Goethe-Institut Deutschland. Bringing #Asia and #Europe closer through collaborations in #arts and #culture remains at the core of ASEF’s work in culture. Thank you for being a part of this journey, and we look forward to seeing you in 2025. Follow #AECFest2025 for updates on the upcoming 7th Edition!
