"High resistance Fault Found! ⚡ We recently assisted a client with a challenging fault localization issue at a substation in Malaysia. During commissioning tests, the 132kV XLPE underground cable experienced a flash over at 90kV, settling down at 60kV. Traditional fault location methods were ineffective due to the high resistance nature of the fault. After several months of delay in the project, Aspectus Engineering Services (Singapore) was called in to pre-locate the fault. With the aid of advanced technology and equipment, HiRES transient recorder from HIGHVOLT, we were able to pre-localize the fault by analyzing traveling waves generated during the breakdown of a resonance test. This precise localization enabled our client to efficiently address the issue and plan for subsequent follow-up actions, hence minimizing further downtime. Is unacceptable moisture in your insulating oil a problem? Sure, but the solution is just around the corner! Due to some unfavorable circumstances, one of our customers was repeatedly faced with an unacceptably high moisture content in the insulating oil. For OLTCs of the VACUTAP type, oil filter units are usually obsolete. But the MR oil filter unit not only filters particles but also dries the oil. Our team carried out all the mechanical installation and, of course, all the electrical controls and connections. In addition to the mounting brackets and cable trays, the customer was particularly impressed by our technology for creating stainless steel pipework without welding.  With our professional engineers and this technology, all the work was completed within three days and the transformer was commissioned. The oil quality has since been at an unprecedented level. 76kV @ 7ppm moisture content exceeded the customer's expectations.  Another success story for the ASPECTUS service heroes!
