Last week, we celebrated National Day with our children and families across all KiddiWinkie Schoolhouse and Little Footprints Preschool centres! 🎉 Our little ones learned about Singapore’s rich heritage, its journey to independence, and the values that have shaped our nation's success. They proudly sang iconic National Day songs and the anthem - and enthusiastically recited the pledge. Our dedicated educators prepared engaging, hands-on activities like crafting the Singapore flag and creating models of local landmarks, bringing the spirit of the day alive. Some centres had the joy of welcoming families to join the festivities and excursions, making the day even more special. 🎉 We hosted a group of Pedagogists And Specialists in Teaching and Learning (PASTEL) last week at our KiddiWinkie Schoolhouse centre in Mountbatten! 🌟 Led by our Cluster Manager and ECDA Fellow, Stacey Toh, these remarkable individuals are part of the first batch appointed by ECDA. During their visit, we showcased our unique approach to early childhood education, highlighting our curriculum's focus on a child's Natural Rhythm™. 🕰️ At KiddiWinkie Schoolhouse, we provide infants with opportunities to grow at their own pace, respecting their inherent developmental rhythm. Our guests explored our Sensory Oasis™, a multi-sensory room designed to promote relaxation and encourage development and stimulation. 🌈✨ We also shared insights into how we support our early years children in their social-emotional development journey. 📰 We are proud to share that Stacey Toh, one of our Cluster Managers and an ECDA Fellow, was featured in The Straits Times to discuss the important topic of screen time for young children. At Babilou Family Singapore, we have screen time guidelines that help our educators engage children meaningfully while still using technology as a teaching resource to keep learning interactive. However, excessive screen time can inhibit a child's ability to read faces and develop healthy social skills. In-person interactions are invaluable for building trust and relationships, as they enhance children's ability to understand non-verbal cues.
