Our BoardRoom Malaysia office recently held a Corporate Secretarial Symposium for our staff, packed with valuable insights from industry experts! In the morning session, Anand Raj from Shearn Delamore & Co. delivered an insightful presentation on Dawn Raid and Merger Controls. One of the key highlights was how company secretaries should handle Dawn Raids - what to expect when enforcement authorities make an unexpected visit to seize documents.  The afternoon session was led by Ms. Lee Siew Kim, the former Head of Winding Up Unit at Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM), who discussed Members' Voluntary Winding Up (MVWU). Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting 30 students and 2 lecturers from Singapore Polytechnic’s School of Accountancy at our Malaysia office. The day began with a welcome speech from our Chief Operating Officer, Jonathan Lim, followed by insightful presentations from our BoardRoom team. The enthusiastic students learned how to interpret annual reports, understand financial statements, and gained a comprehensive overview of Malaysia and Singapore tax laws. We also arranged an office tour, where the students were introduced to BoardRoom's operations.
