BW ESS is delighted to welcome Marc Weisser as our Chief Financial Officer!   Based in Zürich, Marc will be responsible for overseeing, refining, and managing the financing strategy for the company and its energy storage projects worldwide.   Prior to joining BW ESS, Marc was an Executive Director at UBS, where he advised entrepreneurs and global family offices on Corporate Finance with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising activities across various sectors, including renewable energy and energy transition.   Before that, Marc was an Investment Banker at Lazard, Morgan Stanley and Scotiabank in London, focused on M&A, strategic advisory and capital market transactions across the energy, oil and gas sectors, for publicly listed companies, governments, private equity and privately held businesses.   Marc holds an M.Sc. in Industrial and Financial Economics from the University of Gothenburg and a Diplom-Kaufmann degree in International Business from the Paderborn University.   Please join us in warmly welcoming Marc to BW ESS!

Making progress! Our CEO Erik Strømsø and Penso Power Limited CTO Nan Jia recently visited the Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. factory to oversee the FAT of our 100MW, 2.5hr duration Bramley #BESS, which is being delivered later this year. As usual, the team left impressed with the quality and standard of the Sungrow equipment, not to mention the team involved. We can’t wait for this project to connect to the grid and start contributing to the UK #energytransition 🇬🇧🔋

Morgan's recent Clean Tech Stars Conference in London 🇬🇧 The two-day event, held from 6-7 March 2024, united industry leaders with key investors towards global net zero emission goals by 2050. Through expert presentations and panel discussions, the event highlighted key developments in decarbonization and technologies from high-growth private companies. The panel “How will artificial intelligence reshape the clean energy ecosystem”, moderated by Christopher Thiele, Co-Head of EMEA Energy, Power & Renewables Investment Banking, saw our CEO Erik Strømsø join Phil Thompson, CEO of Balance Power , Vincent BRYANT, CEO and Co-Founder of Deepki, and Antoine Rostand, President and Co-Founder of Kayrros, in a discussion on the impact of AI on decarbonisation in an evolving sustainability-driven landscape. Energising Italy’s sustainable energy future 🔋   BW Group is delighted to share about BW ESS’s new joint venture with ACL Energy, a Milan-based battery energy storage developer and Penso Power Limited, to develop 400MW of projects in Italy.    Comprising three projects in Italy’s Lombardia, Piemonte and Puglia regions, the development stage projects are 111MW, 187MW and 97MW respectively.
