Canopy Power Australia participated to the Victorian Government’s Clean Energy Delegation event organized by Invest Victoria, as part of All Energy Australia in Melbourne. The quality of the sessions and the speakers from Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA)Offshore Infrastructure Regulator and many more, were outstanding. Gathering so many brilliant, skilled and driven minds with passion for the energy transition in Australia in the same room was a great testimonial to the commitment of the Victorian Government to the renewable energy. Canopy Power Australia is proud to be part of the energy transition movement in Australia and we are committed to accelerate the renewable energy deployment in Victoria: • 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: 28-33% emissions reduction below 2005 levels, 40% renewable electricity • 𝟮𝟬𝟯𝟬: 45-50% emissions reduction, 65% renewable electricity, 2.6GW energy storage capacity We would like to thank Michael Baird, Sharifah Khairunnisa Almushayakh and Lisa Pitre for all their support to a young and motivated Victorian company and for making us part of the dynamic and energetic Victoria Renewable Energy community. Together, we accelerate towards a clean energy future in Victoria! 𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘦𝘭𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 ☀ #Australia #Victoria #Renewable #Energy

The failure to mitigate climate change and to address environmental risks is a comprehensive threat to global stability, security, and human well-being. From the perception survey, we can see why #sustainability and environmental risks rank as the most severe over the next decade, as they will directly or indirectly affect nearly every aspect of life on Earth. At Canopy Power, we help businesses and communities in their #decarbonization efforts, especially in remote areas where the impact of #climatechange is most adverse. https://lnkd.in/dKWAYyx5 #ESG #RenewableEnergy #ClimateAction Source: The Global Risks Report 2023

Microgrids enable local communities and businesses to become self-sufficient in their energy needs. By harnessing renewable sources like solar, wind, or hydro, microgrids reduce reliance on centralised fossil fuel power plants, promoting energy independence and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Small island developing states in the Pacific – including Fiji, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands – contribute only 0.03% of global greenhouse emissions but are committed to achieving #netzero by 2050 and 100% renewable energy by 2030. Canopy Power is focused to help such remote island businesses and communities, to create high impact initiatives to reach their sustainability goals by 2030 and beyond. Small is beautiful, indeed. #Sustainability #ESG #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition https://lnkd.in/g4HaQaQB

Richard Branson once said that “𝘈 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘪𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘹𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘵𝘴.” We, at Canopy Power have been busy working as a team to help island resort owners, businesses and communities in their #decarbonization. Our company structure is basically flat, which means that ideas and decisions flow freely and constructively. Whether we are onsite, in the office or anywhere in-between, we have our client’s interest in our hearts and mind. 🏝️𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀? 🏝️ If yes, you are not alone! Nearly 80% of travellers will pay at least 10 per cent more for sustainable travel features. And even better, 40% of travellers are also prepared to pay more than 30% extra for eco-tourism. The tourism sector is addressing this demand and embracing the eco-tourism. In the luxury island resorts, one of the top priorities is to transition to renewable energy. This transition is the best move to: 1. Reduce drastically the carbon emission 2. Reduce the dependencies to diesel-burning generators and the fluctuation of the diesel price 3. Generate and access a more reliable and cost-effective electricity 4. Save 10-80% on the cost of electricity  5. Plan in a more predictable way their investments to provide the best client’s experience Canopy Power is the go-to-partner for many luxury island resorts to implement the renewable energy systems. We have also partnered with Ocean Sun to provide the new generation of floating solar, addressing the land/roof scarcity point in many resort islands. We are proud of our mission of powering the world, one remote area at a time, and we continue relentlessly to accelerate the energy transition! Founder and CEO of Soneva (Guardian of the Culture); (Founder of Six Senses Resorts)

Soneva has been named the winner of the World's Leading Sustainable Energy Efficiency Initiative 2024 at this year's World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards. In addition, Soneva and the Soneva Foundation were also honoured with the World's Leading Sustainable Finance Initiative 2024 accolade. At #SonevaFushi and #SonevaJani, we have installed 5.2MWp solar PV and 4.7MWh of battery storage ensuring that 40% of electricity comes from renewable energy. These not only reduce our carbon footprint but also demonstrate the feasibility and economic viability of renewable energy. Since 2012, Soneva has been a carbon-neutral company, including indirect emissions such as freight and guest flights. Our carbon neutrality is achieved through our efforts to reduce energy and resource consumption, such as our renewable solar energy, and through a self-sustaining carbon offsetting programme to mitigate emissions which we cannot yet eliminate from our activities or supply chains. This carbon offsetting programme, part of the Soneva Foundation, was initially funded by a 2% room revenue guest carbon levy and employs impact investing techniques to create revenue mechanisms and recycle capital, enabling it to achieve scale and become financially self-sustaining.
