🌍✈️ Reducing the carbon footprint of aircraft components with Thermosaïc recycling! At Cetim - Centre technique des industries mécaniques , we are proud to have worked alongside our partners on the Terra Preta project to demonstrate that offcuts from composite aircraft components can be recycled into new, less critical parts. With support from Safran Seats, Sogeclair Equipment, and funding from the Direction Generale de l'Aviation Civile, we’ve proven that this process can significantly reduce the carbon footprint and the need for virgin materials. Using our Thermosaïc recycling process, Cetim managed to recycle more than 40% of the waste in a closed-loop system, saving 70% of the material used in the initial manufacturing process. This optimized process holds exciting potential for future applications in the aerospace industry. 🚀 The future of composite material recycling is here, paving the way for massive industrial decarbonization!
