CWP's ultra-large-scale green hydrogen project in Newfoundland and Labrador has reached another milestone with the signing of an MoU with the Port of Corner Brook, to explore opportunities related to the 5 GW hub. The focus of project Gwinya will be a green HBI plant within the Port of Corner Brook, taking advantage of Newfoundland and Labrador's world-class wind resource to accelerate decarbonization of the global steel industry. As CWP's Business and Development Manager (Hydrogen) Steve Delaney emphasized: "We are committed to developing this project in continuous consultation with local communities, First Nations and other stakeholders, ensuring the project aligns with regional development goals and its benefits extend beyond the energy transition.” With the support of the Port, this transformative initiative is aimed to promote economic growth and environmental sustainability in the region, creating secondary industries, jobs and opportunities. CWP Global Cofounder Dimitar Enchev joined a panel alongside John Kerry, Maroš Šefčovič, and Beata Daszynska-Muzyczka at the Green Transition Forum 4.0 this Wednesday, June 26th. In a thought-provoking discussion on the key priorities for climate action, Dimitar highlighted the immense potential of the green transition for Southeast Europe. Rather than viewing it as a challenge, he emphasized how this transition can position Southeast Europe as a vital energy supplier to the rest of Europe, thanks to the region's abundant potential and complementary weather patterns. John Kerry underscored the importance of nations meeting their commitments and acknowledged the global nature of these efforts. He resonated with Dimitar's perspective, agreeing that the green transition is a significant opportunity to create new jobs and offer substantial returns on investment. #GreenTransition #ClimateAction #SoutheastEurope #RenewableEnergy #CWP #Sustainability #GreenJobs #InvestmentOpportunities

CWP Global is thrilled to announce a new MoU signed with SNIM (Société nationale industrielle et minière) to explore innovative opportunities to decarbonize iron ore production in Mauritania. This groundbreaking collaboration aims to leverage CWP's ultra-large-scale green hydrogen project, AMAN, to transform Mauritania into a leading producer and exporter of green Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) through a new Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) hub project that could host multiple green hydrogen-based DRI plants capable of converting Mauritanian raw iron ore into millions of tonnes of green HBI per year, predominantly for export to the European steel industry. This initiative is a significant step towards reducing carbon emissions in the steel industry, aligning with global sustainability goals. 🌿 Present at a workshop following the MoU signing were representatives from the Government of Mauritania, as well as senior representatives from leading technology provider Primetals Technologies, and Midrex Technologies, Inc. the industry leader for DRI technology. Together, we are paving the way for a greener future! 🌍 Learn more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/eRNyN-PK #GreenHydrogen #Decarbonization #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #GreenSteel #CWPGlobal #SNIM #Mauritania

We're thrilled to share that Founder & CEO of CWP Global, Mark Crandall, took the stage today at the Belgrade Energy Forum for an insightful interview. Hosted by one of the most prestigious energy events in the region, Mark engaged in a dialogue highlighting pivotal trends in renewable energy development, hydrogen innovation, and the pathways to decarbonizing our energy landscape and industries. During his participation, Mark shared some invaluable takeaways: - Southeast Europe's transition away from fossil fuels will require the full implementation of current wind and solar projects. - The urgency of accelerating renewable energy adoption in Europe was emphasized, with a projected need of approximately 7,000 GW of renewables by 2050. - Mark pointed out the biggest obstacle: the absence of a clear price signal in the market, making it challenging for developers to secure financing. He stressed the importance of regulatory intervention, suggesting measures such as CFDs, auctions, and carbon taxes to ensure a sustainable energy future. - Regarding hydrogen, Mark noted that its widespread use in Europe may be limited to niche applications like serving the needs of refineries for desulfurization processes. He suggested that Europe may likely import hydrogen from regions with abundant renewable resources, such as Africa, where production costs are lower due to plentiful sunlight and wind. Mark's participation at #BEF2024 underscored not only his leadership within CWP Global but also his commitment to championing renewable energy initiatives, not just in the SEE region, but on a global scale. #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #BelgradeEnergyForum
