About us
The Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC) is Singapore’s national platform for drug discovery and development. Our goals are to champion local translational drug development efforts and thus catalyze the growth of Singapore’s biopharma ecosystem. We aim to develop therapeutics and diagnostics that save and improve the lives of patients in Singapore, Asia, and the world beyond. We are dedicated to translating the great science arising from Singapore’s biomedical and clinical research into innovative healthcare solutions. EDDC possesses a full range of capabilities for the discovery and development of small molecule drugs, antibody-based drugs, and companion diagnostics. We are keen to establish robust partnerships with academic, clinical, and bio-pharmaceutical industry partners for development and commercialization of innovative assets and platforms. EDDC is committed to jointly bring forward medicines that improve healthcare and generate a return to support Singapore’s future drug discovery and development research.

On the 11th October 2024, we celebrated our third birthday! This year, we commemorated the occasion by inviting an ALL-STAR speakers' panel consisting of Dr. Ruifen Weng (CEO, DxD Hub - Diagnostics Development Hub) Dr. Pauline Erica Tay (Director, National Health Innovation Centre (NHIC)), Ms. Hsin-Ee Chia (Associate Director, Alliance Management, Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC)), and Dr. Dr. Sharon Loh (Senior Manager, Business Intelligence & Development, STCC, Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation, Singapore (CRIS)). To add to the joyous occasion we witnessed the MOU signing between National Cancer Centre Singapore and DxD Hub - Diagnostics Development Hub, and marked exciting research collaborations with Illumina PacBio and KITKOJI. 🔬 Advancing Cancer Diagnostics and Innovation at Cancer Discovery Hub Open House 2024 🔬 Thank you, Cancer Discovery Hub (CDH), for having us at the Cancer Discovery Hub Open House 2024, where our CEO Dr. Ruifen Weng, discussed the role of early diagnostics in preventive and precision care, and shared insights on challenges in development of an impactful diagnostics tool that is fit for purpose for the right patient at the right time! 🤝 A key highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) / CDH and DxD Hub - Diagnostics Development Hub (DxD Hub), formalising our ongoing collaboration to advance Asian-centric laboratory-developed tests (LDTs) and in-vitro diagnostics (IVDs). This partnership will drive forward the development, commercialization, and adoption of innovative diagnostic solutions.
