🌟 Honored to Receive the Alumni Rising Star Award 🌟 I’m thrilled to share that NUS College of Design & Engineering has awarded me the Alumni Rising Star Award. This recognition is a meaningful milestone on my journey with Green COP Pte Ltd, where, as CEO and co-founder, I am dedicated to transforming biowaste into sustainable fuel solutions. At Green COP, we’re committed to advancing sustainable energy through a “JUST TRANSITION” approach, driving a greener economy in the maritime and transportation sectors with inclusivity and equity at its core. Throughout this journey, I've been privileged to present our initiatives to the Minister of Transport and industry leaders, reinforcing the critical role of innovative solutions in sustainable energy. My contributions extend beyond Green COP, as I’m deeply committed to academia, recently appointed as an Elite Fellow and a member of the Industrial Advisory Panel at the University of Malaya. Service and advocacy continue to inspire me, and I am grateful for opportunities to share our mission at industry events, including SIBCON 2024, LogiSYM Asia Pacific 2023, Malaysia Digitalisation Supply Chain Conference, and Innovfest 2024. These engagements fuel my passion and connect me with like-minded advocates for sustainability and resilience. Thank you to NUS CDE Alumni Relations for this honour and Dr. Lai Yeng Cindy Lee for nominating me. Also, to the exceptional mentors including my family, my Ph.D. supervisor Prof Kun-Lin Yang, colleagues, and students who have supported my journey. This achievement is not just a personal milestone but a testament to the incredible support and opportunities provided by the National University of Singapore. From invaluable mentorship to research platforms, NUS has shaped my path in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Appreciate the support from NUS Enterprise, NUS Graduate Research Innovation Programme (GRIP), PIER71™, Ken Energy Pte Ltd, Temasek Foundation, Shell Startup Engine, etc. all along the journey 💓 #NUSAlumni #GreenCOP #SustainableEnergy #JustTransition #CommunityService #Innovation #RisingStar

🌿 Agri-Waste Revolution: The Green Launch 🚢 Earlier today, we had the pleasure of hosting "Agri-Waste Revolution: The Green Launch". Co-hosted with IOI Corporation Berhad, this launch event showcased Green COP’s Green Initiative, bringing together various parties to share our vision for a cleaner, more #sustainable world. We began the day with a welcome address from Mr. Kent Lee, Senior Advisor of Green COP, who delivered the welcome remarks, stressing the urgency of addressing climate change. He spoke about the growing challenges of extreme weather and emphasized the crucial role of corporate responsibility in driving sustainability initiatives. 🌍 Our Guest of Honor, Mr. Kenneth Lim from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), delivered an insightful address, recognizing the vital contributions of all parties present. He emphasized the importance of science-based technology in driving meaningful outcomes. He spoke about the role of NUS Enterprise in supporting founders with innovative technology and commended Enterprise Singapore for facilitating the collaboration between Green COP Pte Ltd and IOI Corporation Berhad. Kenneth also praised PIER71™ for its efforts in supporting startups in the maritime industry and acknowledged Ken Energy Pte Ltd for their support in off-taking and exploring biobutanol. This highlights how collaboration among stakeholders is essential for driving our shared sustainability goals. Our second Guest of Honor, Mr. Chai Tian Siang, representing IOI, reinforced the importance of global sustainability efforts and expressed gratitude to Green COP for our innovation in converting agri-waste into green fuels, which aligns with IOI's commitment to a sustainable future. Dr. Hanson Lee, PhD, our CEO, introduced Green COP’s Green Initiative, outlining the critical role biobutanol will play in decarbonizing maritime fuels. By transforming plant-based waste into #biobutanol, which is a drop-in fuel, we are not only reducing carbon footprints but also generating new revenue streams and creating #circular, sustainable solutions. 🚀 The day culminated in the signing ceremony, where Green COP commissioned the Maritime Energy & Sustainable Development Centre of Excellence (MESD) to conduct a comprehensive environmental sustainability analysis of biobutanol. This study will optimize our operations and further reduce our carbon footprint, aligning with our commitment to a greener tomorrow. 🌎 We wrapped up the event with a site visit to IOI’s plantation mill and Green COP’s pre-commercial plant, allowing attendees to gain insights of the operational processes at both locations. Thank you to all our guests for joining us on this momentous day. Together, we are driving change, and today’s event is just the beginning of a greener future.
